Aftershock (2010 Film Review)

Hi everyone, I bought this movie ages ago but just got around watching it today. This is a Chinese drama film directed by Feng Xiaogang and produced by Huayi Brothers. It spans the course of 30+ years, focusing on a family which was torn apart by the 1976 Tangshan earthquake, only to be patched together by the 2008 Sichuan earthquake.(spoiler sort of sorry!)

The two earthquake scenes are really emotional, especially the first one as you watch the earthquake unfold and kill and injure so many people. Also when the mother needs to decided which child to save. I have watched a few disaster films, but none have been as emotional as this film. Many films also don't really focus on the aftermath of an event, they usually just focus on the disaster itself which really sets itself apart from the usual disaster films you see.

Though you may have noticed that it's a drama film, and that is true. The earthquakes are just a small part of what the film is about. I think it's sort of interesting watching a historic(??) Chinese film as I haven't seen many before. You get to see China change and develop while the characters develop and change too.

Overall I really enjoyed the film. I can't really say that there's anything wrong with it at all. It was definitely more dramatic than what I thought before I bought the film though.

请你相信 (Believe) (CD Review)

Chinese post sorry! But I'll be talking in full English, I'll just be copy and pasting song names etc. Today I will be talking about the new EP album released by Stella and Nick Chung.

This EP includes:
01. 请你相信
02. Do Do Do

I actually bought it officially from one of their staff(I think) which came with a signed copy, T-Shirt, Postcards and the DVD to Bad Students 2.

The song 请你相信(Believe) has a nice tempo, actually very relaxing. I myself do not really understand the lyrics at all, but it does really feel like a touching song and I feel like it is a very inspirational song which can really make you believe, so I think it makes it a really great song.

最懂我的人(The Person I Know The Most) is a track which came from their previous EP, but it is also a very good and touching song, and I urge you all to listen. Below I have put the MV 请你相信(Believe) up, so enjoy!

Uploaded by milk6production2005 September 14, 2014

The rest of the tracks on this album are just instrumental covers of the songs. I hope that they'll release a full album one day soon. Did I mention that they're brother and sister?? I think they've reached over 1 million sold copies which is really great for Malaysian artists more local based, and due to the high piracy rates. If everyone just bought the genuine copy, I think they would be at 2 million possibly.

Overall it's a great EP with great songs!

Draw My Life (Blog Post)

Hi everyone, it's getting late but I still wanted to post something to continue my streak. So lately I've been watching a lot of Draw My Life videos, and I have found a lot of them to be very inspiring to watch, I will link some below.

So what I realised was that everyone had an interesting life before YouTube, and a lot of people struggled with problems such as devorces, bullying, school etc. It just proves that everyone has their obstacles that they have overcome just to get where they are today, and I think that that's amazing. I have to say that I have tried making one before, but it really sucked, and I never even uploaded it because it was that bad, but from watching so many Draw My Life videos in the past day, I have decided to make one. I don't know when, but I will hopefully soon.

So many of these stories were so inspiring, and I urge people to watch some if you haven't already. I feel though that you need to have watched some of the youtuber's videos before watching them though, otherwise you probably don't feel the same way after watching them, and that's what has happened while watching complete strangers!

The ones that I have placed on this post here are just some of the very inspiring videos that I have seen so far, go check them out! I feel like I know these people so much better from watching their Draw My Life video. So inspiring!!

Bleach Season 4 Episode 64-68 (Anime Review)

Hey everyone! So I've finally started watching Bleach again!! So I have to say that the first 5 episode of season 4 are really interesting, even though I feel like they're sort of filler episodes. I'll talk about them in this episode, but I'll try to not spill the beans too much!

Ok everyone returns from the Soul Society and go back to normal life. Ichigo and the gang go back to school, and Renji makes an appearance, but this time he's in a human form. With Inoue disappearing one day, it is up to the Ichogo gang to figure out what has happened. In episode 2 we are introduced to a really annoying girl(I have to admit) who starts to play games with everyone by telling them to rush to a local phone or else Inoue dies. This happens a couple of times before the girl finally lets Inoue go. I won't spill the beans next, but later on the Ichigo gang are trapped in a museum labyrinth in which there are traps and stuff. This is the second game the girl plays, and for the third game the gang must figure out which person is an imposter and they must figure it out within a certain amount of time before everyone at the school disappears. There's a couple of other mini games and fight scenes inside these episodes also.

Overall I really like the game themed sort of episodes, this made it really interesting. Also there's also mystery and suspense as almost every time someone disappears or is lost, or someone will die if they don't complete a task or something, that made it really interesting and different to the ark. But also this made the episodes feel like filler episodes as you're not quite sure where it's going to lead. The girl who turns out to be a mod makes the game more lighthearted as she has that annoying laughing, cheerful voice which is annoying, creepy and funny at the same time.

Overall, so far if I had to pick out a few episodes from the series, besides the Aizen dead body scene, these ones are my top picks, though I think maybe the one at the school, or the labyrinth episodes are the most interesting to watch for me.

Oh and have I mentioned the music for the credits??!! They're my favourite closing credits to date apart from the original one with the woman singer singing in English "Nobody knows who I really am"..........

Oh so good! I'd have to rate these few episodes an 8/10. I have no idea what is in store for Bleach though, but I'll find out soon hopefully!!!

Another (Movie Review)

Hi everyone, today I'll quickly talk about Another, the live action movie version, and compare it to the anime I just reviewed yesterday.

So the plot is basically the same as the anime, though to shorten it down, less people died, I think that's the main plot difference. It's been a while since I watched the anime so I can't remember it all, but I couldn't help getting a bit annoyed at the main character portrayed in the film. The writers made it seem like the boy Kōichi was a bit nosy and caused the death of basically everyone(making you hate the lead character).

I think that because it's harder to portray death scenes in such a gruesome way like the anime without it being R18 or banned, but still some of the deaths were a bit hard to watch. My favourite was the spoon??? being pressed inside the eyeball, ooh that's just almost unwatchable!!

The ending is really spooky too. I won't spoil it too much, but a character basically appears out from the dead at the school and looks all fine and stuff, with the movie ending with a freaky cassette message, eeek!!!

Like I said, less people died, and it also meant people died in different ways to the anime too(I keep talking about the anime because I haven't read the novel or manga before so sorry!!) There's actually one person who decided to die in the end, I think that was very heroic, different in the anime where the character just gets murdered.

That's all I guess, overall it's a pretty average film, but I would have not enjoyed it as much if I had never watched the anime before so if you haven't watched both before then I suggest watching the anime first. Overall I'd give it a 6/10

Another (Anime Review)

Hey everyone, so I've run out of recent things I've watched to review on so now I'll be reviewing stuff from the past. Some people know that I really enjoy bloody Anime, gruesome scenes, OMG this title is the one!!! It is called "Another". The first episode aired on Jan 10, 2012, and I managed to watch this series back in 2012, around November when I spent all my days watching Anime. No joke, I was watching one series of 12-13 episodes each day! I managed to almost finish the whole series in one day, except for the last episode, and when I manage to watch a whole series in a day, then I know it's real good!

*Quick Edit, I'm watching the live action film for the first time. I'll compare it against the anime and see which is better!!

Anyway, the anime is set around a class who is cursed. in which members in the class, and their family members die off in quite strange deaths. I girl called Mei Misaki is ignored by the class for some unknown reason. Many years ago, a girl in the same class also called Misaki died midway through the year, with her appearing in the photograph strangely with her classmates after the time of her death(freaky!!!)

There's a scene I really need to spoil, but I won't mention any names. A girl has an umbrella stabbed through her neck, and after that I looked at umbrellas in a whole new perspective, and only buy ones without the spike on the top!

I absolutely love this series! It ranks at my top 10 favourites of all time! The blood, the mystery, the storyline, it all fits in very well. Characters may have been added into the anime just to be killed off, but the creators really made a good use of that. The last episode is a real plot twist, I have to say that that's the most dramatic of all the episodes.

As the episodes go on, secrets unravel and makes you grip onto each episode more and more. I highly recommend this series, and I rate it a 9/10! My cousin really liked this series too! I'll watch the live action movie now and either review and compare it to the anime now or tomorrow. Well until then, bye!

Fishpond (Website Review)

Hi everyone, today I'll be reviewing the website Fishpond (New Zealand). I have ordered two times from them now so I do have a bit of experience from them. This website is similar to NZ game shop, so all the stock comes from overseas(or most at least).

The website offers free shipping on all orders. This is good if the price of the item is cheap enough. I have to say that there are times that the item is cheaper than other local websites. I think that they can get away with the cheap prices is because of how cheap things can be overseas. Stuff sold locally in NZ can be a bit expensive. One thing which I have noticed which is normally always cheaper than other places are their books. I managed to buy a lot of Avatar books from this site at up to $10+ more cheaper than other places, including Mighty Ape which I think is pretty expensive!!

The down side on some of their items is that they're fake. I have looked at some of their Pokemon plush toys at least and I can tell that they're fake. Extremely cheap prices of items from China or Hong Kong, you can do the math. Though I'm not 100% so I can't really say much about it.

So far, all packages I have ordered from them have come inside a bubble bag. Although this is the case, my second order had some creases and bends which I wasn't really happy with, but it's not too much of a problem I guess.

Overall it's an alright site. I'm not big on buying from this site though as it takes 2+ weeks to arrive, slower than NZ Game Shop at least, and NZ game shop has rewards at least. But it's a trusting site, and I don't really have any problems with it at all.

The Biggest Loser (American TV Show Review)

so I say American, because I'm currently watching last season's American biggest loser. This season is called Second Chances 2 (season 15). I've been watching this program for quite some time now, maybe since the beginning. What I find the most interesting is the peoples life back stories, and also peoples weight loss each week.

Compared to the Australian version I have also watched, they compress one week into just around 40 minutes/ one episode. In the Australian versions I have watched, there are 5 episodes for 1 week. In ways it is good because episodes arn't dragged on, but at the same time, episodes can be too compressed so you don't get to see much on the show, so sometimes there's not as much suspense, but it's still good :)

Some of the stories of contestants on the show are pretty inspiring too. Won't talk about anyone here, but sometimes it makes you realise how lucky your life is compared to some of the people on the show.

Something I realised that feels different for this season is that there's not much fighting or anything. There's no-one that you "hate" and want eliminated. I think this is because they introduced "just the red line". So no yellow line vote to exit the game. I feel like this has caused less drama on the show, though it could be that they're not showing it.

But all in all, most things are same on the show. All in all this is a reality show. I won't rate this one though, but I do feel like this show has changed lives of many people for good and impacts deeply for viewers as well which makes it a very inspiring show. Check it out if you haven't. I just started watching this series today, and I've almost finished episode 7, need to study >< Goodnight!

Selena Gomez & The Scene - A Year Without Rain (Album Review)

Hey everyone, I'm here with another album review. I bought this album a few weeks ago off Trade Me, and it arrived a few days ago and I just listened to the whole album right then. This was the second album released by Selena Gomez & The Scene on September 17th, 2010 by Hollywood Records, and consists of 10 tracks(in the official release, though I will list the track list on my album.

Track List:
1. Round & Round
2. A Year Without Rain
3. Naturally
4. Rock God
5. Off the Chain
6. Summer's Not Hot
7. Intuition
8. Spotlight
9. Ghost of You
10. Sick of You
11. Live Like There's No Tomorrow

I have to say that I highly enjoy this album, as it contains many catchy track. This would have to be one of my favourite albums released by Selena Gomez & The Scene to date, though I need to listen to them all to finalise my judgement. What was strange was that Naturally was included in this album, while it was also included in her first album, but oh well, it's still one of my top 10 favourites haha!

I can't really say anything wrong about it at all. And compared with the first one, this one has a lot more better tracks which are more catchy than the first album. I find it hard to blog about albums, I just don't have much to say, either they're good, or they're bad haha, but this one is good. I'll rate it an 8/10. Not much else I have to say, but if you're looking to buy only one album from them, then this could just be the one to buy!

Well that's all, bye!

StarMedia Online Shop(Website Review)

So sorry everyone, I ran out of time once again and am behind on some assignments so I'll do a quick review on a online shop called StarMedia who sell albums and some movies, all released by their company(also their former company Wayang Tinggi). They have various names such as StarMedia Entertainment/ Distribution etc. I myself have ordered from them two times, and here I will talk about my experiences with their website.

They have a Chinese and a English language version of their website. This is good because I can understand it haha. Album selection wise, they stock mainly more recent albums, with a majority being DVD copies and have tried to not stock any of the CD's of the newer albums. They have stocked some very rare albums though at only RM5 each(that is maybe $1-$2NZD for a full album!!!).  So they do some pretty good album deals! Speaking of deals, they do promotions from time to time such as Buy 1 get 2 free, or buy 1 get 1 free etc, so there's not much reason not to buy a whole catalogue!

In terms of shipping, unfortunately it is not free, though sometimes they do free shipping within West Malaysia. They accept paypal for those like me who prefer not to bank in!!! Shipping has usually cost me around 120RM-140RM, so around $50ish dollars, which can be a bit pricey,

Shipping takes around 1-2 weeks so it's not bad considering the distance. They wrap your order in  bubble wrap, or place it in a box and wrap that up in a poster(promotions for albums or moves!!), and then wrap it up in paper again, so it's packaged nicely and it's secure.

Oh I almost forgot, each time, they sent me a Chinese lucky charm thingy which I thought was really nice!! But uh... is that all?? I'll add more if I remember but overall they're a really good site, just shipping price needs a few decreases if they can afford it.

*Edit
Oh yea, it takes around 1 week for the transaction.

What is a Chinese New Year Album?? (CNY News)

Hi everyone, well as this blog is all about entertainment, here I'll be talking about the Chinese New Year album news. I know this topic doesn't interest most of the western viewers so if you don't want to know about Chinese New Year albums then you may stop reading here.

Ok so I've been following album news in Malaysia for quite a while now. When I think of Chinese New Year albums, these are the artists/ groups that I think of, and some of them have released solo CNY albums too, M-Girls(四个女生),  Four Golden Princesses (四千金), Eight Superstars(八大巨),  and Cute Princesses (巧千金). I myself believe that I'm an expert in Chinese New Year albums, at least I have watched and collected enough to know when one is good or bad. Not quite sure if I should make a separate blog about it or not as my Chinese isn't very good. But closer to CNY I will post another blog post on CNY MV's/ albums, and what I usually expect from them.

A bit of a rundown on what a Chinese New Year album is....
You can think of Christmas but to an even larger scale. You have really catchy music, old and new. Sometimes folk and pop songs are converted into a CNY cover!!! Malaysia leads the way in CNY music and releases the most CNY albums out of any country each year(Even China!!!). Most of the time, an artist releases 2 types of albums(these days anyway, an audio CD(what you usually expect with music), and a full MV album, so all the songs in the album have Full Music Videos and are released on either DVD or VCD(Video CD is usually 360p), though previously they were released on Laser Disc and VHS also before they became obsolete, and also Cassette.

I'll cover other stuff in other posts as this is getting too long, but I wanted to announce a new CNY album being released by Cute Princesses (巧千金). This will be their 10th Chinese New Year album as their first album was released back for the 2006 CNY(time flies!!!). Although the 3 past members Cecilia, Alicia and Viki have left the group, Veron has stayed in the group, along with members Miko and Joanne who joined in the 2012 CNY album.

Back at the start of the year their company StarMedia threated fans with a warning on Facebook that they may not let Cute Princesses release another CNY album due to the huge piracy issue as the other successful group managed by StarMedia, M-Girls were pulled from releasing anymore CNY albums due to the huge piracy issue. But this week Cute Princesses have begun shooting their latest CNY album for CNY 2015. I'm excited to see what other artists/ groups will be releasing CNY albums for the 2015 CNY season.

Dance Party: Club Hits (PS2 Game Review)

So yea, I played about two songs and realised the problem straight away.... I didn't have the right mat.
So I bought this game from FishPond, and it said it came with a mat, though after around 2 weeks the game came, but no mat, but I decided to play anyway. What sets this game apart from the usual DDR games is that there are diagonal arrows, not just vertical and horizontal arrows. The design is completely different too. The arrows are placed around in a circle, and the arrows move from the inside to the outside. I actually think this design is easier to see, but I find it harder to get the timing right, and almost always miss a step or two.

Music wise, to start off there's only a small selection of songs which I don't know, but are club sort of songs I guess, and the animations in the background are just people dancing haha. I myself prefer the usual DDR type of games, and find them more fun, but it's worth a try anyway if you haven't played it before. Well until next time, bye!

101 Dalmations 2 (Film Review)

So today I wated 101 Dalmations 2, Patch's London Adventure. So I don't know about you guys but I really enjoy watching Disney movies.

So anyway, like always, I'll just post my thoughts on this movie. But just quickly, this film follows the first film in which there now are 101 Dalmations, and as they're all growing, they need more space to move around so they are moving to the country for more space. The day before they move, Patch feels like he's just part of a set, and wants to be one of a kind like his hero Thunderbolt(which there's an ad for an audition for the show). On the day of the move, Patch sleeps for too long and misses the moving truck. His dad Pongo miscounts the 99 puppies but doesn't think much of it. And basically the film follows Patch as he goes to the audition for the show to meet his hero.

So really I think this film shows the sort of adventure side of what happens when I kid is left behind, but ultimately realises that you need family. When the puppies are stolen again, Patch and Thunderbolt go and rescue the puppies, but on the way Patch finds out that he's not a "real hero" but one that plays on TV, and I thought it sort of relates to Bolt(if you've seen that film)

I think I've seen this film before as there's a few bit which I vaguely remember. The film is pretty good overall I think. I like how the "humans" think that dogs arn't smart, but the film proves it wrong haha. Actually for a kids film, there were a few dialogue bits which I thought maybe wern't quite suited for kids because Cruella de Vil mentions how to "kill" the puppies by drowning them, or bashing them in the head etc, let's hope kids don't know about it, because I certainly didn't even notice it until I watched it today.

Kids certainly enjoy watching adventure type of films don't they? There's been many films where a major character goes missing, and some which realise that their hero is just an actor, though I can't name them all. Overall a good film. 7.5/10. I'll add more if I have time, but I've really run out sorry, bye!

Dance Factory (PS2 Game Review)

Hey everyone, over the next few days I'll probably be reviewing quite a few DDR type games, and if you read one of my reviews a few weeks ago, you'll know why.

Here's an overview. So in these type of games, you follow on screen and step to the music and follow the arrows. For this game Dance Factory, the difference is that you can use your own CDs to dance too, but there are 5 default tracks that you can dance to.

The down sides to this game is that the arrows are so spaced out in solo mode, making it harder to see the steps, also the flashing arrows and backgrounds can be a problem, making it hard to see what steps to take. Also I find normal mode very hard, in fact easy is around normal in the usual DDR.

I can't say much about this game but I'd give it a 7/10. I like how you can use your own music, but it'd be cool if it could save tracks because you need to keep swapping discs and load the songs.

The Legend of Korra, Book 1: Air, The Art of the Animated Series (Book Review)

Hi everyone, today I will review another different thing to what I usually review, a book, but this is no ordinary book, this is the art book of The Legend of Korra (Book 1: Air). So I bought the Avatar The Last Airbender Art book, and I quite enjoyed it so I decided to buy the one about the first season of Korra.

So the book contains a lot of pictures, drawings and sketches of a majority of characters through their production stages. It's interesting seeing the development of characters, and how a sketch turns into the final form. There's also little blurbs to give a bit of info about the picture(s)/ sketch(es). I found the one of ATLA much more interesting though, it had lots of informative info and seemed to be more well thought of while being put together. This one feels like they just chucked in everything, but I'm not saying it's bad at all.

I recommend this art book to fans of ATLK (ATLOK??? oh well) as it just gives a good look at how the series was put together with the characters and scenes etc, along with ideas/ scenes and characters not put into the series.

Fountain Speakers (Review)

Hi everyone, this is a bit of a different review but I got the awesome Fountain Speakers!(there's a few different variations in names but this is the one I like the most. This is just a bit of an overview of what I think of them.

So you get 2 speakers which connect together and operate by USB, so no batteries. At first when I tried them, I thought they were broken because the lights were on, but the water wasn't moving around. I later found out that you need to turn up the music loud, and when I mean loud I mean 50+ in volume so these speakers are not for playing in your own little room for your ears only, but for blasting up LOUD!!! If the music has a really deep bass beat, then it might work better, but still the music needs to be loud.

I also found the audio sounding a bit bad, like it wasn't as crisp as you might usually hear with the usual speakers, but it's not too much of a problem I don't think, unless you're one of those people who really need the quality of audio. I have to say that overall, they're a bit cheap, though I would have liked a bass control to control the water, that'd be nice, and or a volume button. Even a button to change the lights, that'd be awesome! Actually mine is a made in China brand so it could be why??

Overall not bad at all, what will they invent next??!!

最烂学生?2 Bad Students?2 (Film Review)

Hey everyone! I just watched this movie called Bad Students? 2 online today and decided to review it. So is a local production produced in Malaysia so everyone is probably unknown to you all but I still want to introduce it to you all!

So there's a few well known artists in this film, Nick(钟盛忠) and Stella(钟晓玉) Chung and also Crystal Ong (王雪晶). My Facebook friends William and Kitty also play a part in this film so I think it's really cool :D

So the film follows on from the previous film with the same name. Now the teacher Wang Lao Shi (Played by Nick Chung) is asked to go to another school to teach Mandarin to a group of troublesome students. Crystal plays Ah Bao, a very troublesome teen girl who likes to cause trouble and play pranks, which goes too far in the film and causes a student to go to hospital. Ultimately a character dies in the end.

This film deals with some of the usual Asian drama tropes, including the troublesome, bullying students, playing pranks on the teacher, framing the teacher for molestation, unexpected medical condition causing a character to go to hospital, being taken by gangsters, and I think that's all. Though sometime a bit unexpected was characters from a previous school moving into the new school, which I suspect is quite a distance apart.

I myself enjoyed this film as I know a lot of the characters, and it was cool to see some people act for the first time. The use of the DSLR was really obvious as almost everything was either in or out of focus, giving a really artistic effect which is not seen very often on higher budget films. Overall I give this a 7/10, not bad at all. You can find the video on YouTube and watch it yourself. I myself will try and grab a copy while I still can. And for everyone who doesn't understand Mandarin, that's alright as the video includes English Subs!

51st Post! (Blog Post)

So sorry, no post today! I am so flat out with everything going on in my life that I don't have time today to do a proper review because it would take too long. Maybe tomorrow?? But for now I would like to celebrate passing 50 posts on this blog, and posting everyday continuously since the day I opened this blog. I'd like to quickly thank everyone who have found this blog and keep coming back. I just like the entertainment side of things, and usually watch or play something new everyday so you know :D

If you didn't know I'm masterbrendan, my Youtube username since way back in 2007, and my name since young. What shall I review next?? No idea, but maybe some K-Pop albums, and I need to review Nikita, even though I live in NZ which is really late in releasing TV shows! Until next time, bye!

The Ellen DeGeneres Show (TV Show Blog Post)

So while studying for my tests, in my procrastination time I decided to go watch some videos of "Heads Up" on theellenshow on YouTube
Here's a video featuring Robin Williams
Robin Williams Plays 'Heads Up!', Uploaded by TheEllenShow, Nov 21, 2013

Most of these videos gave me a good laugh, and there are other segments which have really gave me a good laugh too. Overall, watching so many of her videos on YouTube has made me realise how funny she really is. Though I miss the TV airings, I catch up with the YouTube videos, though they're always incomplete.

Some of my recommendation clip titles: Clumsy Thumbsy, Heads Up!, What's Wrong With These Photos?(Though sometimes there's some variations in the title), Guesstures, In Your Facebook!, Bad Gifts From Facebook + there's so many more, and almost all gives you a good laugh.

Sometimes I need a good laugh, and it's hard for me to laugh at comedy. Back to reviews tomorrow probably, otherwise Monday, bye!

Chore Games (Blog Post)

So sorry everyone! I'm so tired today so just a quick post. Do you play any chore games? On Facebook I used to play ones by playfish all the time(restaurant city, pet society etc), i also used to play travian, and also Tekken Revolution but i won't go into much detail here. These days I must play the Sight training game every day to get the stamp on the calendar each day(those games seem to always be addicting) and also I play Clash of Clans a lot, just to upgrade everyday. In the end I get fed up and quit altogether,  and in the past i have also caused a laptop to break, and also a dvd player, so don't ask me how it happened, but games can be bad for you, especially addicting daily chore games, stay away from them!!!!

That's my word of wisdom today, goodnight!

Fujifilm Instax Instant Camera (Camera Review)

Just a quick review on the camera. I got given it on Saturday, and started to quickly get used to it.
I myself have studied photography so I know a bit about cameras. Here I will just quickly talk about what I like/ dislike about this camera etc. I don't have much time today, and almost ran out of time today. ><

Anyway, the photos are a bit rectangular, not square as you may thing, but that's alright. You load a pack of 10 in the camera. It does take a lot of double A batteries though so they could have done a battery pack or something for it?? The camera is very basic though, just a button to take the picture, and a few light settings, so like indoor, outdoor, sunny lighting etc. I'm not quite sure if it can take a picture without a flash though, though pictures can become dark when the camera is far away because the flash doesn't reach the people/ person/ thing.

I wish that you could have the option to manually focus though(if it can then I need to take a look at it) But I really like this camera anyway. It's really fun and addicting to just snap pictures. Cost cam be a problem. I bought a 50 pack for $50 which was not too bad, but it can be more expensive.

Overall it's a pretty good, simple camera. Sorry, this blog was rushed, I may edit or do another one in the future. Well until then, bye!

K-Pop, Why Do I Listen To It? (Blog Post)

This is going to be a blog post about why I listen to K-Pop. So you've seen a few of my posts on K-Pop, but there are people who ask me why I listen to it, especially because I am not Korean. I believe that music is universal, and anyone who speaks any language can enjoy any song. I myself didn't really get into K-Pop until early last year after my cousin introduced me more into it.

Back in the day, I used to only listen to English language music, this was right up until 2010 ended, then something happened to me, I didn't enjoy much English music from 2011+ . I believe that music has evolved for most countries, but none more so than English music. It's hard to explain, but when you take a look at what the songs deals with, then you realise what they're really talking about, but I won't go into detail on what almost everyone are covering their lyrics on(at least the more popular songs), but I felt like they were being used too much, and I felt like a change.

I escaped to more Chinese songs for a while, and back to the older English songs, but even I find the newer Chinese songs are a bit the same to the English style. With K-Pop you have the dancing(very in time), lyrics/ topics which most other languages don't sing about, and catchy music, all with the elaborate packaged albums and awesome looking hairstyles, something I think English albums are slowly being influenced by.

So I'm not saying newer English music is bad or anything. I still listen to the occasional songs, but what this post is more explaining is why I listen to K-Pop music. I've also found that people wonder why you would listen to music which I don't understand. Although some of their lyrics are partly in English, a majority is Korean. This is something English music can't do, though they get around this by mixing up slangs etc, though most people don't notice when it happens.

So yeah, anyway, I hope that explains my K-Pop music history, and why I listen to it. Though the majority of music I listen to is in Mandarin (did you know that some K-Pop groups release Chinese albums (mostly in Mandarin)??), my main area is local Malaysian artists. The style I listened to as a child has changed me to the way I am today and what type of music I listen to,

Post is getting too long so I'll stop it here. Goodnight!!

Cooking Mama 2 (DS Game Review)

Hey everyone! I'll be quickly reviewing the game Cooking Mama 2. So if you've played the first game, then just to let you know, there's not much of a difference, though almost all the sequels are similar, though I think some of the latest releases are more 3D.

As the game suggests, you cook different dishes by preparing ingredients and cooking them with a time limit. If you do it within a certain time limit then you get a bonus reward which is a star. 5 stars(I think, though it could be more) and you get to pick out of 3 presents. Sometimes you'll get nothing, and sometimes yo get a little prize.

Each new dish completed unlocks a new dish, until they're all unlocked. You get a score out of 100(which is a gold), silver, bronze, or broken medal depending on how well you cooked. If you do a bad job for one step, then Mama fixes it for you.

Overall I find the game really fun, but it can destroy your DS screen if you're not careful so watch out for that! Depending on what dishes you cook, the steps can be a bit repetitive, but I can play this game for many hours on end!

I give this game a 7/10, why not play it some time? It's pretty fun, and it's one of my childhood games!! Well until next time, bye!

Selena Gomez & the Scene, Kiss & Tell (Album Review)

So I haven't done any album reviews before so I might do more in the future, but you might realise that these will be shorter than reviews such as movies or TV shows.

The album "Kiss and Tell", released on September 29, 2009 by Hollywood Records is the debut studio album by Selena Gomez and the Scene. There are 13 tracks:
1. Kiss and Tell
2. I Won't Apologize
3. Falling Down
4. I Promise You
5. Crush
6. Naturally
7. The Way I Love You
8. More
9. As a Blonde
10. I Don't Miss You at All
11. Stop & Erase
12. I Got U
13. Tell Me Something I Don't Know

I have to say that there's only a select few songs that I quite like, with my favourite being "Naturally", but there's quite a few songs which arn't as catchy as I liked when I first heard them. I'd have to give this album a 6/10. It's not a bad album at all, though the future albums get better.

Ladies' Code Sad News (K-Pop News)

So I don't know if you have head this news yet but on September 3, 2014 members of Ladies' Code were involved in a severe car accident as their van lost a wheel and ran into a protective wall. Member EunB died while the remaining 6 passengers were injured. Today I learnt about the death of Rise, another member of the group. I can't help but feel very sad about this news. Even though I did not really know about this group, until quite recently, it's very unfortunate to such talented, young women. I hope that the remaining members make a full recovery(haven't really heard much information about them) but most of my news comes from allkpop so if you want to know k-pop news then you can visit that site for more information.

Hopefully something like this never happens ever again. I myself am lucky to have found out about this group and will buy all their albums soon :) Remember to cherish your life and make the most of it, as you never know when the end will come to you, and the people close to you.

Pokemon Art Academy (3DS Game Review)

Hello everybody, today I will be reviewing the Pokemon Art Academy game on 3DS. The thing is that I've only played around an hour, so this is my perspective while initially watching this game.

So as the title suggests, in art academy what you do is draw Pokemon step by step, starting with the outlines, then colouring in. If you're like me, and are really bad at drawing , then this is the game for you to start of your Pokemon drawing journey!! There are a few Pokemon faces that you can select and draw first, one of them I drew was a Pikachu, and a Piplup.

To be honest, after I drew one Pokemon, I realised how much the guy talks so much in between each step! I actually find it annoying and would rather him not talk so that I can just go and learn how to draw!!

For the moment anyway, I feel like this is more of a colouring in book in which you just trace Pokemon in, but I heard that as the drawings get more complicated, it gets harder to draw the Pokemon, so I think that I need to play more of this game to get a overall rating. But for a temporary rating, I'd have to give it a 6.5/10. I really like the idea of learning how to draw Pokemon though. I wouldn't recommend this game if you don't like drawing or learning how to draw Pokemon as this would not be the game for you. That is all for now, goodnight!

Pokemon Heritage Collection & Dragon Ball Z Movie (Anime News)

Hi everyone, so no review or anything but I would like to quickly talk about a new product that will be released on the 11th of November by Beyond Home Entertainment. The Pokemon Heritage Collection will be a massive Pokeball trophy like mould containing the first 9 Seasons with 54 discs and with over 168 hours of footage to watch, this is a must have Limited Edition Pokemon item to buy, but if you've already bought each Beyond Home Entertainment(Formerly Magna Pacific) release of Pokemon on DVD then are you really ready to pay $250 for this collectors item??

If you're like me and have 4-5 copies of each season on DVD, you can't blame me for being a bit hesitant on buying this collection. But if you're like me and are a Pokemon collector, then you can't blame me for wanting it just because it's a new limited edition item, and I myself am a huge fan of the anime ahead of anything else(tcg, games etc). I do have one question though, why no Blu-Ray! This would have been the perfect time for a Blu-Ray release!!!! So far, only the last few movies have been released on Blu-Ray. We are still waiting for a Blu-Ray release for full HD!! Also does heritage only go up to season 9? Is that as ancient as it goes with Pokemon?? I suppose they'll release another Heritage Collection containing the final seasons from season 10 upwards.

Well you know I'll buy it, but what about you??

Link for more details below!!
Beyond Home Entertainment Pokemon Heritage Collection

Well, that's all I have to say, but I hope at least the discs will be stored better than the Pokedex book collections!!!

Also tomorrow repeats for the new Dragon Ball Z film will be showing again at cinemas so if you missed it, then you can go watch it!! (or watch it again!)

Avatar The Legend of Korra, Season 3, Episode 12&13, Enter the Void & Venom of the Red Lotus (Final Series Episode Review)

Ok so it's been around 2 weeks since both episodes aired, and today I finally got the chance to watch these two episodes. Of course I will not spill the beans, especially as these are the final episodes of the season.

In episode 12 Enter the Void, Korra surrenders herself to the Red Lotus to save the Air Benders. There's a bit of intense fighting which causes a death of one character on the show, and someone learns lava bending and also someone learns how to fly :D And also a character manages to say "I love you"!!!!

In episode 13 Venom of the Red Lotus we get a bit of the flashback of the previous villains as Korra is forced into the Avatar state by the Red Lotus by giving her poison and yes, there is more fighting as the series reaches its climax.

Episode 13 was probably the most emotional episode I've ever seen on the Legend of Korra, especially near the end. I stayed watching the credits in sort of disbelief that the episode and series ended so fast. I feel like the ending really suited it. The emotions remind me just like the end of Avatar the Legend of Aang, but this time, there's still one more season.

The fighting in both episodes are still pretty entertaining, with a majority usually resulting in a death or injury. I feel like the creators really started experimenting with death on avatar. Ways which you sort of think "Did they really just kill her??". So it feels a bit strange when a character is killed. I made sure to check online just in case the character didn't actually die after all(but they did haha)

The team on Avatar really did a great job with the storyline for the final episodes I think and I think they're probably the highlight of the season, but you have to wonder why Korra is always kidnapped. The series ends at a place where you need to wonder what will happen in the next series,

I give these two episodes an 8.5/10, with an overall 8/10 for the whole series. Probably this was the best out of all three seasons so far, so I'm egar to see what's in store for season 4. I'd love to keep going on about the season, but I might just reveal too much so it's best to just watch! Well, until next time!

House of Fury (Film Review)

Hello everybody! For my final review today,  I will be reviewing the 2005 HK movie "House of Fury" written and directed by Stephen Fung, thought the people who produced the DVD cover decided to only add in the name "Produced by Jackie Chan", which is true, but fails to mention other names on the cover.

But anyway, this is a martial arts/ comedy film, more martial arts than anything.  To keep the plot short, a father(Terry Yue Siu-bo played by Anthony Wong)  is raising his two children (Nicky Yue played by Stephen Fung and  Natalie Yue played by Gillian Chung) after the death of his wife and is soon kidnapped and questioned about the whereabouts of a former CIA agent. It is up to the kids to find and rescue him, but as they do that, their father's past is quickly uncovered.

So anyway, you can expect a lot of fighting, and when I say a lot, almost the whole film revolves around fighting. In a way, I can say that the style feels similar to Kung Fu Hustle (the action director did direct that film after all). So if you're interested in martial arts films then this is definitely the film for you!

There is a part in the film where you suddenly think that a character turns out to be the bad guy, but you're shocked to find out that he's not, so I thought that was pretty smart! There are a couple of relationships going on in the film, but not much to think of it as a romance film. Comedy wise, I didn't find any bits funny at all, but that's just me.

Overall I can't say that there's anything bad about this film, but I feel like that it's missing something, so I'm not completely sold on it. But all I can say is that i it were an American film, then there'd be a massive explosion at the end!

My rating for this film would have to be a 6.5/10, so it's pretty average for me. But you can tell me what you think! Until next time, bye!

Dancing Stage MegaMix (PS2 Game Review)

My cousin got me back into the game again, DDR.... What is DDR??  Dance Dance Revolution, a series produced by Konami. Dancing Stage MegaMix is part of the series. All you do in the game is follow the arrows on screen (Up, Down, Left, Right) and you have a dance pad where you press those keys on, so you"dance" by pressing on the keys.

This particular game has quite a few tracks which have taken my particular liking, and the game can get pretty addictive. I've played on hours on end before. I'm quite eager to play right now but the problem has to do with the mats. They don't quite last long enough. There are metal ones to buy but they are more expensive and at the moment, you can only find them online I think, though PS2 has already become obsolete so everything is becoming harder to find.

My rating is 8/10, these DDR games are so much fun, and with 2 players, it can be pretty fun, especially for parties. Practice does make perfect as you start off from beginner, and work your way up to Ultra Hard mode! Try it out some time!! Until then... Bye!

Lady Snow Blood (1973 Film Review)

Hello everybody! Today I will be reviewing the Lady Snow Blood movie (The first one) directed by Toshiya Fujita. So I bought this movie on Saturday at Mightyape and it finally arrived today!! One of the things which really attracted me to this film was that Kill Bill was inspired from it, and yes I have seen Kill Bill before, so it made me intrigued into some of the similarities.

So the main character Yuki(played by Meiko Kaji) is set to finish the task of killing the people who killed her father and brother, after her mother killed one but was later sent to jail and died. Already there is a similarity with Kill Bill, the task of revenge for killing loved ones. Another is how the stories are set e.g chapter 1, chapter 2 etc, and also how there's two volumes!!!

There's quite a lot of action which goes on, though comparing to the action, gorey films we see today, this film doesn't quite stack up. I think what makes it that is that this is quite an old film(70's), and I have to say that I was a bit surprised at how old the film was, I thought maybe late 80's to 90's film so at least the people who restored this film to digital did an amazing job!

Though film was filmed on quite a small budget so that could have also been a factor. The fight sequences feel a bit choreographed to me as there's some delay in the reactions, and also the blood is fake looking, though I feel like that's what almost everyone used back then. My favourite death would have to be the slicing in half of one character, that was superb as I have never seen anything like that on film before.

I don't think there's anything wrong with this film at all to be honest as the film flows quite nicely. You can see how and why this was a major influence on Kill Bill and possibly other films too. I'd have to give this film an 8/10. Probably you would want to watch this film more for the gore and storyline than the action as I feel like the action in this film is more gore than action.

Also on another note, this film breaks a barrier in the film trope. Normally women are portrayed as more beautiful but weak beings, but this film shows that women can be beautiful, but kick it all out at the same time too which is something that I really like about this film. In America this doesn't really start until later on so I think this film was ahead of its time(story wise).

Considering the budget of this film, I wonder what they could have done if they had a larger budget. The only question I have is what happens to Yuki at the end, though I think it was found out in the next film, but I can't quite remember. Though if you want me to review the next movie, then you don't need to as it's got the same tropes as this, though now Yuki is on another quest, and there's only one person she has a target on(in the beginning anyway), though I thought the storyline was a bit more boring, it still stacks up, but if you want to watch just one film then the first one is the way to go.

That's all anyway, this post is getting too long. Bye!

Pokemon Theme Song Cover

No review today, but this video is a video I created for a competition entry a youtuber named PokeCollection is having. In this video I sing the original Pokemon theme song, with a little bit of a twist in lyrics to fit the purpose. I hope you enjoy. The video with the most likes wins a prize, along with the runner up too so it'd be super awesome if I won, but I don't think I will though, but like the video if you like it and show your support!! Competition closes within the week so be quick!!
