Line Walker (Drama Review)

Hey everyone, today I managed to finish a TVB drama called "Line Walker", I was introduced to this drama from a Youtuber, and I have to say that it's really really good! It is set in Hong Kong and spans over 9 months (though in the end, 3 years has passed). This drama is about cops who go under cover and join gangs and gather intel. Two words to describe this drama, plot twist!! I have never seen such a plot twisting drama before, it is fully action packed, and leaves you hanging with each episode that goes by.

Ok so let me give you some info about this drama, but not enough to reveal too much! So at the beginning of this drama, a cop is pushed off a tall building, this cop arranged for 5 under cover cops to gather intel on certain gangs and people and before much was known he was killed, his last words to another cop was to find the 5 UC's (there was something else but I forgot sorry!). This is actually one thing throughout the entire drama which keeps you watching because you want to know who the 5 cops are. We do not know them all initially because all their info was wiped clean to prevent the information going to the wrong hands, though there are 3 of the 5 who were quickly revealed, as for the last 2, they arrive later, and that's where there comes a plot twist so get ready for a plot twist inside a plot twist!!!!

Another thing in this drama is that there are bad cops the UC's try and sniff out, and then again is some plot twists, especially at the end!! Get ready for that too because you'll be surprised. And with gangs and cops, you can expect there to be guns and fighting, so many that it seems only natural that people can easily avoid bullets!! Also with guns and violence comes death. Quite a lot of well known characters are killed in this drama, something which I have only seen in a handful of dramas, so whoever wrote this drama knew how to plan to use characters well! There was actually one scene which really touched me, something death scenes don't really do, but this one really did. It was actually really painful seeing it, and I'm sure if you watch it too you'd think the same way. I think because of the vulnerability of the characters, it's actually very sad. It's left a very big imprint inside my head. Best death scenes go to.......... Line Walker *clap clap*

And of course with dramas comes romance. I have to say, the way some of them kissed made it look like nothing I've ever seen on a western show(just saying haha). Of course you've got your love triangle, and the couple who do not want to date because they don't want the other to get hurt.

The drama also dealt with domestic abuse which I think they depicted well, though more to the dramatic extreme side as it ended with explosions. Though let me say this, I only see house gasses in Asian dramas, maybe because not as much of us use gas to cook??

Anyway, I think I've talked enough about this drama, I'd give it at least an 8.5/10. It was really good and is a definite must to see!! I've currently moved onto another drama called Joseon Gunman(though I've found that there are many different English names), though I feel like I haven't left the TVB world yet, so I might go and watch another TVB drama soon.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (3DS Game Review)

Hey everyone, I finally got a chance to play the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles game and honestly I can't say much about it. Each section is split up into different parts of a story?? and you go around fighting ninjas etc. Each stage unlocks the next in the story. To be honest the game got really repetitive for me, even the characters say the same thing over and over when they fight. There was only two sorts of characters you fight(at least for the first stage), they were ninjas and blue ninjas which looked like Utroms. Yea anyway, as for the fighting, you can play as one of the 4 turtles and switch whenever, there's not much to the fighting too, as you have one set of moves, a special move which has a limit, and a move where you can throw the baddies once in a while into a bin or on the screen. Anyway, all in all I don't really enjoy this game, not quite sure if I'll keep playing, but I can see why I it was so cheap. I'd have to give it a 3/10, there has been better TMNT games, and to be honest, I was more of a fan of the 4 Kids series, but I haven't seen this series yet so I'll need to soon! Anyway, I can't guarantee that you'll like this game, maybe watch some game play videos first before you try the game out! Until next time, bye!

Diary of a Wimpy Kid The Long Haul (Book Review)

Hey everyone, quick review on a book I got yesterday. I love this series, this time Greg and his family go on a road trip holiday which doesn't go as his mum planned it to be. I got a few laughs out of this book, as I normally do, and to be honest, I was sort of expecting some sort of holiday book for some time now. There's a part near the end of the book which is really funny, when basically everything goes wrong as every small problem from the road trip all comes crashing down into one. But anyway, I really recommend reading this book for some light reading. Usually I get through these books within a hour or two. My raiting is 8.5/10!  I still find it funny how Greg's mum still treats everyone like a kid, and Manny turning a bit evil!

Oh yea, I forgot to say what this book series is all about. Basically, it's about a kid called Greg who was given a Diary by his mum, so he documents his day to day events, and does doodles at the same time on his life. I love the simplicity, and all the funny stuff that happens in this family, I always can't wait for the next book. Well, until next time, bye!

Did anyway notice that he spells Mum, Mom now??!!!  Am I the only one who noticed it?

Avatar the Legend of korra Season 4 Episode 6 Battle of Zaofu (TV Show Review)

Hey everyone, so I watched the latest episode of Korra today, and I'm pretty disappointed actually. So Kuvira fights with Korra one on one for the control of Zaofu, and honestly, I say I was disappointed because her fighting is terrible, I really expected more from Korra, though I'm not quite sure if it's just the people who didn't plan it better or something. But anyway, that's basically what happened actually. Apart from that, Bolin and Varrick are now held to keep working on the vine spirit energy, only to have the train blow up moments later in the episode, but you'll figure it all out once you watch the episode, but really I'm disappointed because once again, hardly anything happened. There used to be so much drive in the Avatar series, and now it's kind of dragging on. But yea anyway, can't wait to see what happens in the end! Well until next time, bye!

Back to the Future Part 1&2 (Movie Review)

Hey everyone, so I watched Back to the Future 2 days ago for some mini holiday time before my next exam on Tuesday, so I won't say too much about the story-line because if you know me by now, I don't like revealing too much like some people do on their blogs. But if you haven't watched the series yet then I'm wondering why you haven't??!!! It's like a classic film most people should have watched at least once in their life-time.

Although the film is titled "Back to the Future", there's not much of a future in the film, actually most of the film looks at the past. Anyway, Michael J. Fox who plays Marty McFly is a teenager who is sent back to 1955, after narrowly escaping some terrorists by jumping into a time machine which is a car. And basically he messes up past events, which prevents his mum and dad from falling in love, basically preventing . In part 2, we follow on from the first movie, and this time it's Marty's future family that's at risk(not just him)

Yea anyway, well for part 1, I really like how they managed to go back "in time", I don't know why, but the actor choices were well picked. It's not my usual film I watch as you may or may not know. As a more Sci-Fi film, most of the gadgets arn't seen until we jump to 2015, where there's flying cars etc, although I wish this was true, it's not T.T but for some reason, the film still has a 80's feel to it even if they tried to make it look like 2015, which seems strange, but when you watch it, you'll realise it.

So, is there a reason why I like this series so much? Not really, quite possibly I grew up watching this film on TV, I know I've seen it many times prior to buying it on Blu-Ray. My mind's really blank here sorry! The film is more story-lime/ comedy than anything I think, but more story-line than anything, though we see some pretty futuristic stuff, in terms of action, there isn't a huge chunk.

Yea, I'm just dragging this on, but the films are really great! I'd give them a 8.5/10! Actually part 3 is the one I never remember, so that one's probably a 7?? But I'll need to watch it again to finalise everything. But yea anyway, if you like time travelling, Sci-Fi stuff, romance(in Part 1), and what people thought of 2015 in the 80's, then go check this film out! Time for me to go, sorry for the really bad review, I am blank for this film, but it's really great!!

Avatar The Legend of Korra Season 4 Episode 5 Enemy at the Gates (TV Show Review)

Hey guys, I watched episode 5 of Legend of Korra yesterday, let's see what's happened without giving too much away. So Kuvira wants to claim Zaofu for the new empire, and we as viewers basically realise how "crazy" she is as she's willing to kill people to get there.

There's an amazing fighting scene with the robots, something which you don't see often on avatar, so there's more of a mix of bending and robotic fighting. We also see who is on who's side properly, and also get ready for the big climax which we can almost expect to happen as a whole army is waiting outside Zaofu. We also see Asami's dad in this episode too. Besides what I've mentioned, there's not much that has happened but I'm really excited for what's going to come. They mentioned that this will be the last for the series, so too bad. I wish they were going to make another series of Avatar!!!

The Prodigal Son (Movie Review)

Hey everyone! I watched this movie yesterday, and first off, I want to say that I got it at a bargain! $1.50!!! Amazing!!! So anyway, this is a 1981 Hong Kong martial arts film written and directed by Sammo Hung starring Yuen Biao as Leung Chang, the main protagonist who has a wealthy family. He was taught martial arts, and fought against numerous guys and won each time, until he faces a girl (later revealed to be a guy) who is in a opera troupe. Leung later finds out that he wasn't taught real martial arts due to the fact that his father didn't want him to be hurt, that's why he won all those previous fights until now.

Overall the film has a different feel to your usual Hong Kong martial arts film, obviously film techniques was limited during that time, but the overall plot is quite different to your usual films these days. It wasn't until maybe half way through the film did I figure out what the plot was actually supposed to be about, though I like how we see Leung learn martial arts, and we as viewers learn some moves at the same time too. Though the film got good reviews and won awards in the past, compared to films now, I fill a bit so-so about this film, it's not good or bad, I feel like it's just a film that passes, though most Hong Kong films during this time were sort of similar so I'm not complaining.

Of course martial arts films have lots of action in it, and this film sure has action. The type of fighting is bloody action, so you see lots of blood. What was new to me was fighting with Chinese Opera characters, they used make-up in one scene which was funny, and also there was a scene in which they fight in a burning building so these are two pretty new types of fighting scenes I have never seen before which is cool.

Yea anyway, overall I'd rate this film a 7/10. I bought a few other martial arts films at a bargain too, so can't wait to watch them! The cheapest was 50 cents!!

100th Post!

Hey everyone, this is a post for everyone who visits my blog, I took a rest for around a week because I managed to accidentally miss a day, and couldn't be bothered after because of exams. I have finished 3 exams, and only have one more left so I do have some spare time now. In actual fact I didn't manage to watch anything new during the period, but today and yesterday I managed to watch some new stuff, so over the next few days I might be posting like crazy, so get ready for that!

Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 3DS (Game Review)

Hey everyone, 99th post!!!!! I feel like I should be doing a special post for my 100th but there's not much to do anything special. Today I got Super Smash Bros for Nintendo 3DS in the mail today, so I decided to play for a couple of minutes. Because I only played for a little while, I haven't really seen too much of the game yet, but I tried a mission(event?) mode, sorry I can't remember the name, but I tried that first and seriously I have no idea what is going on! It's like the adventure mode from the Wii, but it includes a face off with some CPU characters at the end, and at one point I had to destroy some crystals. I had no idea what was happening.

At this very moment, I like the character roster, but I'm very unused(right spelling??) to the controls, I kept pressing the wrong buttons to jump and attack. I think because I'm so used to the Wii. The characters/ graphics remind me of a DS or Advanced game for some reason. At this very moment, I'm not a big fan of the 3DS version of the game yet, and I won't place a rating quite yet. I shall do a more in depth review at a later point.

DVD Conversions

Hey everyone, quick post, but I would like to say good things about a company called DVD conversions who have successfully spliced and converted my VHS which I have left untouched after almost 10 years. I didn't expect any less of them actually, but they brought more than I expected. I'm not quite sure what they did but from what I remember when I was around 8, the tape was in pretty bad condition as the images kept scrolling round and round on the VHS player, so I wasn't able to make anything clear out, and from some parts of the VHS I remember there were some heavy snow noise which showed up on the tape, but can't be seen on the VHS convert so I am very happy!! Now you may be living in New Zealand and want a tape converted and or spliced or even cleaned. I believe they do a lot of things, and not just VHS tapes. I myself had been looking for someone who could splice the tape for me but wasn't able to find a company for 2-3 years because I was too scared to convert the tape myself, though I have tried it once, and it failed. Overall they have done a fantastic job, go check them out!

Spice Up Your Water (Filler Posts)

Hey everyone, another random post today. These couple of days I decided to spice up my water by adding frozen berries in because I usually don't like drinking water otherwise, and I can say for myself that it makes it taste great! It's like a watered down Ribena drink (colour turned that colour too). I really recommend trying it, especially if you don't like drinking water, or drink it rarely and need your H20. It also helps your 5+ a day. I eat the fruit after I finish the drink so it's pretty good, just don't leave it in the water for too long, I usually change the fruit every 1-2 days. Ever since I started, I've been drinking more water, and going to the toilet a bit too often due to the amount of liquid I've been taking, so just make sure you stop a few hours before bed otherwise you'll be awake all night >< Well that was a quick post, talk to you all next time, bye!

Lotte Double Dip Chocolate Stick (FIller Posts)

Hey everyone, quick filler post review because of you know what. But I decided to try out this brand of Lotte Double Dip chocolate stick snack things. If you saw one of my previous videos, you'd know that I like my Asian snacks, especially Korean ones! I tried the Strawberry one today, but not the chocolate one so I'll review that one when I've tried it. But anyway, there's actually two coatings, strawberry and white chocolate, making a more thicker chocolate layer. Overall, the taste is a bit funny actually, mostly because of the double layer of chocolate, I think if there wasn't a double layer, it would taste a bit better. Also the stick seemed a bit off, I don't know why, but it expires next year so I'm not quite sure why, maybe because the stick is thicker than your usual ones?? But not quite sure, though I probably won't try this version again, but I'd recommend people trying it first themselves before they judge themselves. Picture below is the packaging for the Chocolate and Strawberry, and the photo was taken by me and can be seen on my Instagram @masterbrendan. Well until next time, bye!

The Legend Of Korra Season 4 Episode 4 The Calling (TV Show Review)

Hey everyone, so I watched episode 4 of Legend of Korra so let's recap on what happened without giving too much away. So Jinora, Ikki and Meelo are on a quest to find the Avatar after she's been missing for quite some time. If you've been watching throughout the season, then you'd know that she's been at the swamp. I myself can't really say what happens without giving too much away, because so little actually happens in this episode that there's not that much I can say without giving too much away anyway so that's all I can giveaway.

There's not really any action in this episode, I feel like it was more of a filler episode to try and fill in the story gap. Of course the creators could have extended the whole event to fit in a whole season to carry onto another season/ series but obviously they did not want to do that and confined everything to one episode. So anyway, there's not much I can say sorry, but it's all worth it in the end I guess. No idea what can really happen next at the moment, but I hope Toph comes back at the end for some finale!

Yea sorry this wasn't a very interesting review, but that's only because there's not much to review on. Meelo does meet a girl though, and for some reason, I didn't think that Jinora, Ikki and Meelo were vegetarians until this episode, even though when I think about it, they must be.

Yea anyway, can't wait to see the finale. Until next time I'll talk to everyone later, bye!

Scooby-Doo! Mask of the Blue Falcon (Movie Review)

Hey everyone, so the title says movie review, but you should all know by now that reviews at the moment will be kept to the minimum as I'm focusing most of  my time studying these days, but let's get onto a quick review on another Scooby-Doo movie.

Unlike the previous film I watched, I actually watched this one from start to end, and even still at this moment there are some blanks which I cannot fill in, and I don't know if my brain is exhausted after a long day, or that I'm just not cut out to watch children targeted movies anymore. But anyway, this film features Blue Falcon and Dynomutt who are characters created by Hanna-Barbera Productions from a 70's show I believe, though I was born in the late 90's so until today I had no idea about these characters (sorry about that folks!) . So anyway, I guess this marks a sort of guest appearance/ collab with the Scooby-Doo franchise.

The film revolves around a comic-book convention in which as you guessed it, there's a monster wrecking havoc, and the Mayor is only interested in investment from the convention, so the event continues. The original  Blue Falcon actor was replaced by a younger actor and stars in a new film about the Blue Falcon, with everyone oblivious to the original Blue Falcon. This actually reminds me of one of the Ben 10 episodes, but I won't talk about that here. So anyway, the Mystery Inc gang investigates the mystery, and really... that's sort of what I remember, until ending anyway.

This film really just follows your usual Scooby-Doo film format, so much that I cannot really say much, other than I wish they could introduce something in which they have not yet. Though I know it's hard to get that new idea. In actual fact these new films seem to sort of follow a similar route. I don't know why, but the first few films up to the mid 00's seemed really good compared to these newer ones, I don't know what happened! Though when it came to unmasking the guy in the mask, you sort of don't have a clue on who it actually was. Every time I see a new Scooby-Doo episode or movie, I try to figure out who the culprit was, though most of the time, the evidence that they "collect" is a bit lacking.

Overall there's not much to talk about, it just follows your usual film routine. I'm not saying it's a bad film, but when you've seen most of the collection, the films can get a bit repetitive. My raiting would have to be a 6.5/10. Not bad at all. Well until my next investigation, bye!

The Man With The Iron Fists (Movie Review)

The Man with the Iron Fists is an American martial arts film directed by RZA and written by RZA and Eli Roth. The film is set in the more traditional period of China. Although you immediately assume this is just another martial arts film, you realise how different peoples film making techniques are.

Mid way through the film I have no idea what is going on, so I won't talk about any of the plot sorry! But anyway, from watching this film, I can feel that it has a very americanised vibe to it, and by that I mean it doesn't feel like your usual Chinese, martial arts sort of films. You have mostly rap sort of music, which is a no-no, especially in an ancient story setting. Also everyone speaks English so well, something I am not used to seeing, though not saying that's a bad thing, it gives the film a different feel to your usual sort of films.

Something about films filmed in partly more than one language is that sometimes they skip out some subs, but in this film, because I can some what understand Mandarin, I can understand what's not subbed  which is a bonus for me bahahah:P

In terms of action, there's actually not as much as I assumed for a martial arts film, though when there is, the scenes are quick and very bloody. uuuuummmm........ won't spoil it too much. My rating is a bit mixed as I'm not quite sure how I feel. Definitely very different to your usual martial arts film. I'd have to give this a 6/10. It's worth a look anyway, as I'm sure some people might really like a different style. Well until next time, bye!

Family Feud (Filler Posts)

Hey everyone, another filler post. I ended up watching 2+ hours last night and 1+ hours of Family Feud on YouTube today. I've actually found the show pretty funny, and I've laughed quite a few times. Here is one clip I have shared of a combination of videos from the show. I can't remember how I found this show, but I think it was while I was watching more Ellen videos.

Meadow Fresh Chocolate Milk (Filler Posts)

Like I said, these are filler posts, and also most of my reviews are on entertainment related stuff, but sometimes I like to review consumable goods as well. As I am typing this post out I am drinking my Meadow Fresh Chocolate Milk. Now I don't know about you guys who may have tried it in the past, but for me something tastes off, like it doesn't taste like it used to. And I have bought a few over the past year and they all taste the same different taste, so there's a chance that they've changed the ingredient list since before, so if you're reading Meadow Fresh, then please revert back to your previous makings!!! I miss the old chocolate milk, it was so tasty! If you're reading this and you liked the Chocolate milk before then let me know so I know I'm not the only one who thinks there's a difference.

Yea anyway, I'm starting to think that I should be posting this on my other blog but I'll think about that later. Let me know if you want me to review anything, but until next time, bye!

Ellen Accents and Impressions (Filler Posts)

So sorry everyone but I've decided to do filler posts until my exams have finished as I have no real time to watch anything new or anything. But during procrastination time, I like to watch short YouTube videos and these Ellen videos are some which I watched today. They're fun to watch, and I got a good laugh out of them. Impersonations are the best! These are just two which I really enjoyed!

Avatar the Legend of Korra Season 4, Episode 3,The Coronation (Cartoon Review)

Hey everyone, I'm real late today and it's almost midnight so I'm going to rush this! So The Coronation, what actually happened?? Well I'll try and not spill the beans too much, but basically Wu has a coronation to become the Earth King. The only piece of jewelry left was an earring later called a broach to make it more masculine bahaha. This was due to the fact that the Earth Kingdom Palace was robbed of it's jewels. We also see what happened to the palace which has now turned into a tourist attraction, and actually I feel a bit sad seeing this. We also see more of Toph, and the reason behind Korra not being her 100% self. There's not actually too much to this episode, but it sets the scene for the next episode as all events present in this episode sort of is a cliffhanger for the next episode.

Well overall not much action, but a lot of drama, plot wise there's a plot twist which people sort of knew was coming as we see things in a new light. I won't rate this episode or anything, but I'll have to see for the next episodes. I know when people do reviews they just reveal the whole plot, but I hate reading stuff like that before I've actually seen it, so hopefully I didn't give anything away.

Scooby-Doo! Music of the Vampire (Movie Review)

Hey everyone, so I wasn't quite sure if I should be reviewing the Scooby-Doo films because usually they all are pretty similar but I'll just be reviewing the one I'm watching today called Music of the Vampire.

Well anyway, there's one thing which sets this film different to the previous ones, and that's that it's more musical themed, so characters sing a number of songs throughout the film. Besides the musical themed movie, it's also vampire themed as well.  There's a vampire festival going on and well, you can guess what could happen next. But anyway I think I missed too much of the plot so you can guess what that means, but anyway I'll skip to my thoughts on the film. You can go and read the plot over on Wiki.

Overall there's not much to this film, it's not one of the best I've seen, yet it's not one of the worst. I probably only suggest people who want to hear the Scooby-Doo characters sing, or jsut kids who want to watch a cartoon or something. The reason why I can't say much about this film is that I don't really remember much about this film, and usually less interesting films do that to me. I'd probably give it a 5/10, but until I find myself re-watching the film again, that's my rating. Well until next time, bye!

The Happening (2008 Movie Review)

Hey everyone, today I'll be reviewing The Happening (2008 film) written, co-produced, and directed by M. Night Shyamalan. This movie is a supernatural thriller film, and is also considered apocalyptic too. So basically all over America, people are killing themselves due to an air-born toxin. The film follows a husband, wife, friend and daughter.

Well there's not much to say about this film. It got bad reviews but I still wanted to buy it and watch it. Remember the other apocalyptic films I watched, well I think those were worse than this one. My thoughts are that it's not actually as bad as what I thought when I looked at the reviews. The film starts off really great, we see people kill themselves, but we do not know why initially, and actually this is the first movie I have seen which covers this sort of topic, most of the others are related to zombies or aliens or something so this makes the story-line interesting.

If you're looking for really gruesome scenes then this isn't the film for you. I think if you prefer more story-line/ plot then this is the film for you! Closer to the end of the film, I sort of wonder what's actually going to happen. We think that everyone's basically died and a few people are left, but the film fast forwards 3 months later, and everyone seems to be fine, at least the people who are still alive anyway as we later find out that it only happened to a specific part of America.

I think  lot of films need a resolution for it to be a "good" film, at least this applies to a lot of good films, though I'm not saying that it applies to all, but this film doesn't actually have an ending, in fact they could make part 2 if they wanted, I won't say what happens at the end, but they made a cliffhanger for sure!

I feel like if the main protagonists actually solved the mystery and developed a cure or something, then it would have received better reviews, and also maybe if they added in a few more gruesome scenes, that's at least what I think anyway.

But overall, I don't know about anyone else, but I quite enjoyed the film actually. I've seen worse films in my life. In fact I think this film would rank better than Cloverfield for me, not quite sure about you guys though. Possibly characters may be less developed in this film, aiding to the low rating. I'd have to give this film a 6/10.

Actually, I'm watching the deleted scenes now, and there's more gruesome scenes, so yea haha. Well that's the end of this review. I actually bought 9 movies from this one person on Trademe and one which I thought was a sequel to a movie I really wanted to watch, but turns out that it was the second sequel so uh-oh haha. Doesn't matter really, anyway talk to you all later, bye!

Limited Edition Pokémon Unova Collector's Pokédex Book (Unboxing Review)

Hi everyone, I totally forget about reviewing this but I will do more video reviews in the future, more on products and special items as those require more of a look. Here's the video anyway, check it out!!

EasyCAP (Product Review)

Hi everyone, today's another product review. This will be another quick review because I haven't tested this product fully yet, but here goes.

So this product helps capture videos using RCA connectors or S-Video by using a USB connector. The product also includes an installation disc which includes a basic video editor to record the videos and edit them. And when I say basic, I mean it's similar to the basic windows movie maker with some different transitions and themes etc, but for $15, you don't expect too much.

But anyway, I mainly bought this product because I wanted to start filming some gaming videos. I searched this up online a few days ago before I saw this product on Off The Back so I just decided to buy it. I installed the product yesterday using the disc, and everything installed fine except for one final thing, though I'm not quite sure if it'll affect anything, at the moment everything is fine.

So I tried recording a simple DVD, but when I pressed play it didn't work. Not quite sure if this is a problem yet, or if it's just a copyright thing but I'll try out my Wii and Playstation later on when I have time. Though besides this It does work though so that's a plus. When looking at settings, I did realise that some of the aspect ratio options were a bit strange so I'm not quite sure if I'll be able to record without having some black bars anywhere but I'll let you guys know.

Overall it is a cheap option to record yourself playing games or making copies of your tapes or something, but if you're looking for something more higher quality then I suggest you do not buy this item. I'm pretty sure there's better options out there. But for the price, it does do the job. I will talk about it more when I have more experience with it. Well until next time, bye!

Action Camcorder (Product Review)

Hi everyone, today I'll be reviewing the Action Camcorder. I can't quite name the specific model but it shoots 720p videos and also pictures. I haven't actually had the chance to use it yet, but this is what I think about it so far.

So I bought it from Off the Back last week for $50 so it's pretty worth the money. We have water fights at work so I thought it was time to capture everything on video (without destroying a camera) so this was the choice for me. So the camera takes a micro SD card which wasn't included so that's sort of the reason why I haven't used it yet.

So the actual camera fits inside the water proof case, but I read that it can't go right under water so probably don't want to test that out! Some of the functions include a 2" touch screen, though I'm not quite sure that it works until I take case out so that's a con, but it's not much of a problem because you can still turn the camera on and press the shutter button. It does say that audio is recorded, even though you can't hear it when you play it back from the camera (apparently) though that's not too much of a problem.

Now, I'm not quite sure how long a camera can last, but it takes around 90 minutes before the battery drains (full charge) so that'g good maybe depending what the usual life if a camera is. It's more of a basic camera though, there's up to 4X zoom and you can do your usual camera taking and filming and stuff. It comes with some extra stuff like a bike mount and stuff, and you can stick it on a window or something. It also comes with a car charger and cords for your computer.

Overall I'm pretty happy with this product. I'll post more about it when I finally test it out and maybe post some stuff from the camera on this blog. Well until next time, bye!

Nickelodeon DVD Series (Product Review)

Hi everyone, I thought it was time to review the Nickelodeon DVD releases by Beyond Home Entertainment. I currently have bought 3 different shows: Rugrats, The Wild Thornberrys and Hey Arnold. So Beyond Home Entertainment have been releasing box set collections for quite a while. They have definitely improved from the original Pokemon box sets that's for sure, but there's some room for improvement, so let's review!

So the typical set is a cardboard outside with a plastic casing inside with push cases. There's one thing I don't like about the cardboard case, and that is that there's no sort of slip cover to go over this case, so it sort of just flings open whenever which I think makes it seem a bit more cheaper because usually set designs like these have some sort of slip over these cases. I have seen a different design though, they were just the usual DVD cases, nothing special.

As for the contents inside, they have nicely separated each season out into 3-5 discs usually. Aspect ratio is in its usual form, and you can tell they restored the shows well as grain isn't as evident, and shakiness isn't that present. For Rugrats though, I did notice that the colours were a bit dull for my liking, though I seem to recall it being the usual dull colour. So far I have not seen any errors too which is good. Some of the Pokemon box sets had errors, though I think most of those errors came from the design of the cases which ultimately caused problems on some of the discs.

Overall these Nickelodeon DVD series released by Beyond Home Entertainment is pretty good. Like a lot of people, I'm waiting on Blu-Ray releases for full 1080 HD. I feel like I'm missing something, but I'll update if I remember what it was. I just hope that they release other childhood titles! Well until next time, bye!

Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated Season 1 (Cartoon Review)

Hello everybody, today I'm just going to talk about the cartoon Scooby-Doo! Mystery Incorporated Season 1. So I used to watch it on TV a long time ago, and watch the movies. I watched Mystery Incorporated back in 2011, but found myself missing out on the rest of season 1 as it was a time when I stopped watching anything on TV. Yea anyway, back to the show....

So if you've watched any of the Scooby-Doo shows or movies, then you might realise that this one is a bit different to your usual ones. It's still a person dressed up as a monster usually, though this time this series has a more of a darker tone to it all. And when I say darker tone, I mean it will probably scare children. There's some times when it actually looks like a character dies (Like being consumed by bugs etc), pretty different to some of the previous titles.

I don't really have much to say about this series though, it's pretty good I have to say. Just the darker tones could scare the younger children. There have been a couple of plot twists though, and the stuff about Mr E and the previous detective kids makes the storyline much more interesting, and a lot more spooky. Out of a 10, I think I'd give it a 7.5. Well until next time, bye!

Dragon Ball GT (Anime Review)

Hi everyone, so today I have officially finished Dragon Ball Z, after around 1 year, I have finally finished the series!!! Overall I stand by saying on my last post that that season was the best, because it really was. Following on from the final season of Dragon Ball Z, it's been around 10 years, and everyone's grown older and more wrinkly. All except for Goku who was turned back into a little boy again from an accidental Dragon Ball wish.

So I've finished episode 2 of GT. I remember watching the season for a week or two when I was younger, and I was right, I think I know why I enjoyed GT more than Z due to the storyline. Z was more about fighting for 20+ episodes, while at the moment anyway, GT is about the quest to find the Dragon Balls (Similar to Dragon Ball). I think that's what I most enjoy anyway, adventure sort of series, and GT seems to be it!

I have to say that it's weird seeing the characters grow up. They already aged 7 years in the final series in Dragon Ball Z. In actual fact in the final few episodes in Z, they went forward around 7 years so everyone got older then, which I found was a bit weird.

Don't know where I'm going with this, but anyway overall I feel like GT will be a lot better than Z, though online reviews say otherwise. I think if you enjoy story more than action than anything than this could be the right series for you. I'll post another review at the end of either season 1 or the whole GT series. Well until next time, bye!

Legend of Korra Season 4 Episode 1&2, After All These Years & Korra Alone (TV Show Review)

Hey everyone, so I finally got around watching the first two episodes of season 4 of Legend of Korra. So here's a quick rundown of what happened, not revealing too much hoping, but spoiler alert!

It's been 3 years since the end of Season 3 so  everyone's grown up and are beginning to live out their lives after what happened in the previous seasons. The main spoilers are that Korra is actually missing at the end of episode 1, and in Episode 2 we finally find out where Toph has gone.

Hopefully I didn't reveal too much. I have to say that these two episodes are more story than anything, something more for the LOK people to watch definitely! In actual fact I thought Season 4 might have continued straight from Season 3, but there's quite a gap, similar to LOA but a bigger gap. Also did you notice the episode name "Korra Alone", seems familiar doesn't it??

Some of the Earth Kingdom villages became corrupt by bandits after the death of the Earth Queen (Still can't get over the fact of an actual killing on the show!), and now there's a replacement Earth King (He's the great nephew??? of the Earth Queen) all I can say is that they should have picked someone else for the part!

As for Korra, why did she run off instead of talking to people? I still don't quite understand it. Partly because she sees herself in the Avatar state, but thinks it's an illusion for quite some time.

Anyway, this post is getting too long. Overall the episodes are good for Avatar fans as we all wanted to just keep continuing on with the series. What I actually hoped for was some sort of event which would follow on from Season 3, but I really don't feel it at the moment. They sort of made another problem out of the blue, but it's new that Korra is alone.

Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked (Movie Review)

Hey everyone, so I finally managed to watch this movie. I heard so many bad reviews from people, though I've been waiting to watch it since it was first released, just never had the chance to buy a copy. So once again, I won't talk too much about the plot or anything, just my thoughts about it.

This film differs from the previous two films by not being as music related. So the Chipmunks always had concerts and stuff, but this time, there was only one at the end, I think that's where a lot of the bad reviews go. This film is basically another survival film in where the characters are stranded on an island uninhabited.

The film focuses on the development of characters though as we see different sides of everyone, and see them mature, though I won't reveal what actually happens, you'll need to watch it yourself. Though I think this film is more for children to watch rather than older people (such as the people who grew up watching the series) as young children won't really care too much about the plot, as long as something interesting is going on.

Though I have to say that there's an evil character who is revealed quite late in the film. Maybe that's another reason why some people didn't enjoy this film as much, though the unexpectedness made it interesting to say the least so the writers did a good job there.

Overall the film was ok, I don't have much issues with it. Definitely more suited for younger children though as they're the ones who'll enjoy it the most. Well until next time, bye!

Kill Bill Vol 2 (Movie Review)

Hey everyone. I got around watching volume 2 of  Kill Bill today. I'll let you read my previous post if you don't know what the film is about because it carries on from volume 1.

Here are a few important things revealed in volume 2 (spoiler alert!!)
Bride's name is revealed, Bill's face is revealed, info on Elle's missing eye is revealed. Also we find out what happened at the Wedding and the bride's baby.

In terms of action, there's less fighting, and more story-line. There's only about 2 really good fighting sequences. The one that's probably the best was the one with Elle and the Bride so if you're thinking about just watching Volume 2 then look out for it.

When I watched this movie ages ago, I remember one thing which really annoyed me. The bride meets a master who speaks Cantonese, but she ends up speaking both Mandarin and Cantonese to him when answering Yes or No. I think because you can get confused really easily as adding 2 of the words means another word.

When I mentioned story-line before, I meant there's a lot of flash backs, and talking to make us understand more about what has gone on from Volume 1. We saw in Volume 1 the action side, and Volume 2 explains almost everything we had questions about.

So overall, it's not as good as volume 1, I'd rate this a 6/10. I think they could have added in a few more fight scenes to try and balance everything from volume 1. If they added in more dialogue in volume 1 then it could have made both films even better than they became to be.

Kill Bill Vol1 (Movie Review)

Hi everyone, so I finally got Kill Bill, both Volume 1 and 2. So if you remember Lady Snowblood I reviewed it last time. I'll just talk briefly about Kill Bill as I need to go to sleep soon.

Well anyway, this is basically a martial arts action film in which  Black Mamba (an un-named bride) had her wedding crashed, and all the guests killed. She was fatally injured but managed to survive. She wakes up years or months later and discovers that her baby is missing (she was pregnant) and decides to take revenge on all the people who caused her harm.

SO yea, it's basically a revenge film that's really action packed with many Asian, action influences. If you love action, fighting, bloody films then this is the right film for you. This movie really sets itself apart from other films, especially in America. One thing is a strong female lead who can fight, this is something which wasn't as prominent as it is today. Also, it's rare to hear non-Japanese people speak Japanese. I think that that's really cool. This film also takes ideas from a lot of previous films and incorporates it in a new way (especially Lady Snowblood).

My rating is 8.5/10. Time to watch Volume 2, tomorrow. Until next time, bye!

Off The Back (Website Review)

Hi everyone, today I'm reviewing another website. This website is called "Off the Back". Basically this is a daily deals site. Because it's a daily deal site there's not much to say product wise. So it goes on for 24 hours, and there's select stock on what items they sell.  They have some really cheap products on sale, but what lets this site down is no free shipping. It costs usually $5-$6 for post which can be a bit pricey when you're buying one tiny item. Also transaction time varies, but one item took around 1 week to process, but postage is pretty fast. It's delivered within the day or the day after. Overall it's an ok site I guess. I haven't dealt with any problems yet to know how their customer service is like.

Mightyape (Website Review)

Hi everyone. Today I will review the website Mightyape. I have been shopping on this site for over a year now so I'd like to talk to you guys about it and give you my thoughts.

So before I start, yes this is a very reliable site. If you have any problems at all with your order shich as the disc doesn't work for your game, you can send in a request and they'll help sort it out for you. This happened to me for one of my anime discs. They didn't require me to send the disc back, but sorted everything out and the disc arrived the next week.

As for what they actually sell, they sell all sorts, from entertainment types of things, to clothing and food. They really sell a lot of stuff. For their prices, sometimes they are cheap, but some of their stuff is a bit expensive too, though you can ask them to beat it, and usually they lower the price. They do daily deals, and that has caught my eye on quite a few items over the past year.

As for postage, it costs $3.90 usually, though larger orders cost more, so I recommend going Prime Ape. This lets you have the unlimited post option, so it doesn't cost you anymore money than the cost of being a Prime Ape user. They have 3, 6 and 12 months so you choose which one suits you the best. I think this is where the website decides if I want to buy from heir site though as I need to pay for postage. There's other options out there sometimes for the same price, but postage is free, it'd be cool if they changed this for the future.

As for the time frame. It usually takes only 1 day after your order is shipped for your item to arrive, so postage is pretty fast. You can also pay to have your item delivered on the same day if you're in the right place. This is good if you're rushing to get your item.

I don't think there's really anything wrong with this website though. I found myself coming on this website quite frequently to buy items. They also have banana point rewards, so each item you buy gives you certain amount of banana points in which you can use them to buy select items. Though I wish they had more of a variety.

Overall, if you're looking for cheap prices then I suggest you look here, but look elsewhere as well as sometimes their prices arn't the cheapest, though you can always try and get them to match the price. Well, that's all really. See you tomorrow in my next post!

Pokemon 4Ever (Movie Review)

Hey everyone. I actually watched this film a couple of weeks ago but as I've not really been watching anything new, I decided to just review this.

So you can guess that it's the 4th movie released from the Pokemon anime in 2001. The movie focuses on a young boy named Sam who was teleported along with Celebi decades into the future after being chased by a hunter. And basically the whole film is based around Ash, Sam and the gang being chased by hunters.

Overall it's a typical Pokemon movie, though most of the film is focused around one area, the forest. Not that it's a problem or anything. I feel like this film was rushed as the storyline doesn't seem to flow as well as some of the other Pokemon films.

Though it's probably one of my least favourite films, there are some interesting parts. One is the secret behind Sam, I think the future self of him should have revealed who he really was. I think they should have incorporated the GS ball into the movie though. If you remember it was first mentioned i the Orange Island arc right until the Johto series. It would have been cool if they got rid of the big mystery about it. Apparently Celebi was supposed to be inside the ball and they were going to make a story about it but just left it alone. Anyway....

If you know about the usual Pokemon films, you know that many have very sad moments, enough that it makes you cry and have goose bumps. This film has no exception too, so be prepared when you watch it, though the emotional meter doesn't go off the roof for this film.

I'd have to give this a 7/10. It's not that bad at all, but it could have had more of a storyline to it. I can't say too much about this film because there's not a lot to it. So if you're a Pokemon fan and haven't seen this movie yet, then make sure you watch it!

Hotel Transylvania (Movie Review)

Hotel Transylvania is playing on TV at the moment so I thought I might as well watch and blog at the same time. My first immediate impressions was Despicable Me, and mostly because of the how the character talks haha.

I won't discuss the story line much but basically Count Dracula is running a hotel and is raising his 117 year old daughter Mavis alone after his wife was brutally killed by a mob in the 20th century. Being the over-protective father, he doesn't let his daughter go out and see the world, a dream she has. When a 21 year old human Jonathan arrives, he falls for Mavis, and turns the hotel upside down, making things "fun".

There's some funny bits in this film. There's a part when Mavis tries going out to the real world, but hits a snag when there's a mob of people who surround her, only to have themselves stab themselves and set themselves on fire(by accident of course as they're actually not human). I think the garlic + bread is really funny because of the Vampires don't like garlic thing haha.

Basically though, most of the storyline goes to Dracula stopping Jonathan from revealing that he's a human to the rest of the monsters and also stopping Mavis from wanting to leave home and travel the world. I really can't remember what happened at the end, so that isn't a good sign.

Overall it's an alright film, but I think more could have happened in it. Probably better for young children to watch as they won't care about the plot as much, though I have to say that there are elements which would probably scare young kids so you'd need to be careful with that.

Anime Censorship. Anime Only for Kids?? (Blog Post)

Hey everyone, there's no review today, but just a few of my thoughts on Anime censorship. Now I'm not just talking about getting rid of the violence/ blood etc, we know all that stuff about censorship. What I wanted to talk about was some interesting stuff that they do to anime shows when they start broadcasting it in other countries(specifically the U.S because that's the country that seems to dub anime).

Now we know once anime is dubbed, sometimes they change the dialogue, but sometimes they tone down shows too much to turn a teen+ anime title in Japan to a kids 5+ or something show. You can tell that there's something wrong with this already. But this is also because I think in Western countries generally (nothing against anything), usually kids are more linked to "cartoons" don't you think. That's just how society works. My uncle was sort of against me watching Pokemon and always asked "Isn't Pokemon for kids?!", and I have had a few comments similar to this too. The thing is that Pokemon is Shōnen(Look it up if you don't know what it is) and I'd like to think I'm living in my 少年 ya bahaha. Yea anyway, you may have noticed that there's elements in Pokemon which were taken out due to these "specific" things not for young kids. Though there's a part which was played by 4Kids, there's a lot which was due to the Western society not accepting these things for kids. I feel like we're(Western Culture Peeps) less accepting of touchy issues.

You know what? I asked someone about what anime titles they had today, and they asked me "what is anime"?! OMG I was shocked! And they had a whole range of anime titles too. They didn't know the difference from anime and something such as an American cartoon. The thing is that people who think that anime is for kids only have the same mindset too. Have you seen Another?!, have you seen Elfen Lied?!, have you seen Higurashi no Naku Koro ni?! or even Highschool of the Dead?! Watch them before you show a young kid ok :) (This is a joke, don't show them it, but you get my point, not all anime titles are for kids)

This blog isn't really getting anywhere haha.....
Anyway, I was reading about anime censorship yesterday and came across the edits on Once Piece and realised how toned down the show was. A change from a cigarette to a lollipop, drinking wine to orange juice. You know what I thought was one of the most interesting show edits?! In  Yi-Gi-Oh they edited out body guards with guys to them pointing the finger, and you know what, that's actually pretty smart bahaha. I had no idea they did this sort of stuff until maybe a year or two ago. I believe I'm a purest, so I like things as original as possible. Sometimes I can't be bothered reading subs so I move to dub. And seriously when call name a rice ball a jam doughnut or a sandwich, you know there's something fishy going on!

Anyway, these are just my thoughts on the issue. Don't worry if you fit in one of these categories. I'm just expressing my concerns with anime censorship. As long as you know the difference between a general cartoon and anime, and that anime isn't just for kids, then we're all g :D

Dragon Ball Z Season 7 (Anime Review)

Hey everyone, I've gone back to watching Dragon Ball Z again and managed to whip past a couple of seasons. I think the last time I posted I was on season 5 or 4. Those seasons were pretty boring I think as not a lot happened. Just really long fight scenes as usual. I was surprised to find out that the series moves over half a decade, and everyone has gotten older, carrying on with their lives after Goku has left. In the first episode Gohan starts public schooling, something he hasn't done before as he was always home schooled and tries and adapt to the ways of "normal" people.

Gohan has some close calls with hi powers while helping civilians out so he gets Bulma to make a disguise for him, only to have people try and track him down and reveal his identity. Later on numerous people including Gohan and the gang join up at the World Martial Arts Tournament and fight it all out.

That's all I'll reveal for this season. Compared to the previous seasons, this has to be one of my most favourite seasons out of them all so far. It's because the series flows a lot faster now, and fighting is kept to around 1-2 episodes, not 20+ episodes for a fight sequence like previous seasons. Also there's more going on story wise because of this. We get to see many characters develop in this season. My favourite part in this season is Bulma during the tournament as she makes negative remarks to a competitor's mum, and also she gets really into the fight and starts punching Oolong bahahaha.

I'd have to give this season a 8/10, it's really interesting. I think I said that about one of the previous seasons, but it ended in a really long fight too :S Anyway, I'm finishing up this season now. I'll be on the next season tomorrow as I'm already up to disc 5. In other news I'm up to the last episode of season 1 for Hello Counselor. Well until next time, bye!

Hello Counselor (TV Show Review)

Hey everyone! Today I just wanted to talk about this South Korean TV Show called Hello Counselor. Each week four people express their concerns about something in their life which is a concern to them. After they hear both sides of the story and listen to their family members and friends on their opinions, the audience votes if it is a concern. If that person gets the most votes(out of 150), they win $1,000, and appear each week and win the same amount again until someone else has a more concerning story, giving that new person the money.

What's interesting is that there are four hosts to the show, and each host has one person with the concern, and they start off by reading the person's concern before the concerned person appears on the show by sliding down a slide. And the pair have matching shirts which is cute haha. There's also guests which are celebrities who also express their judgements and thoughts too.

I have to say that the show is extremely addicting and really really funny. I laugh every time I watch each episode, and I've probably watched 10+ episodes within the first day or two(started watching 2 days ago). It's also interesting to see what sort of problems people have, and how extreme some of them are.

This show is very different to western TV Shows as whenever they talk about these sort of issues, it's very serious and everyone usually leaves angry and annoyed. This TV Show turns the stories into comedy and makes every so funny, everyone laughs at it.

This show has to be one of the funniest I have ever seen. I rate it 9/10, really great. Really recommend this show to give yourself a good laugh!

Aftershock (2010 Film Review)

Hi everyone, I bought this movie ages ago but just got around watching it today. This is a Chinese drama film directed by Feng Xiaogang and produced by Huayi Brothers. It spans the course of 30+ years, focusing on a family which was torn apart by the 1976 Tangshan earthquake, only to be patched together by the 2008 Sichuan earthquake.(spoiler sort of sorry!)

The two earthquake scenes are really emotional, especially the first one as you watch the earthquake unfold and kill and injure so many people. Also when the mother needs to decided which child to save. I have watched a few disaster films, but none have been as emotional as this film. Many films also don't really focus on the aftermath of an event, they usually just focus on the disaster itself which really sets itself apart from the usual disaster films you see.

Though you may have noticed that it's a drama film, and that is true. The earthquakes are just a small part of what the film is about. I think it's sort of interesting watching a historic(??) Chinese film as I haven't seen many before. You get to see China change and develop while the characters develop and change too.

Overall I really enjoyed the film. I can't really say that there's anything wrong with it at all. It was definitely more dramatic than what I thought before I bought the film though.

请你相信 (Believe) (CD Review)

Chinese post sorry! But I'll be talking in full English, I'll just be copy and pasting song names etc. Today I will be talking about the new EP album released by Stella and Nick Chung.

This EP includes:
01. 请你相信
02. Do Do Do

I actually bought it officially from one of their staff(I think) which came with a signed copy, T-Shirt, Postcards and the DVD to Bad Students 2.

The song 请你相信(Believe) has a nice tempo, actually very relaxing. I myself do not really understand the lyrics at all, but it does really feel like a touching song and I feel like it is a very inspirational song which can really make you believe, so I think it makes it a really great song.

最懂我的人(The Person I Know The Most) is a track which came from their previous EP, but it is also a very good and touching song, and I urge you all to listen. Below I have put the MV 请你相信(Believe) up, so enjoy!

Uploaded by milk6production2005 September 14, 2014

The rest of the tracks on this album are just instrumental covers of the songs. I hope that they'll release a full album one day soon. Did I mention that they're brother and sister?? I think they've reached over 1 million sold copies which is really great for Malaysian artists more local based, and due to the high piracy rates. If everyone just bought the genuine copy, I think they would be at 2 million possibly.

Overall it's a great EP with great songs!

Draw My Life (Blog Post)

Hi everyone, it's getting late but I still wanted to post something to continue my streak. So lately I've been watching a lot of Draw My Life videos, and I have found a lot of them to be very inspiring to watch, I will link some below.

So what I realised was that everyone had an interesting life before YouTube, and a lot of people struggled with problems such as devorces, bullying, school etc. It just proves that everyone has their obstacles that they have overcome just to get where they are today, and I think that that's amazing. I have to say that I have tried making one before, but it really sucked, and I never even uploaded it because it was that bad, but from watching so many Draw My Life videos in the past day, I have decided to make one. I don't know when, but I will hopefully soon.

So many of these stories were so inspiring, and I urge people to watch some if you haven't already. I feel though that you need to have watched some of the youtuber's videos before watching them though, otherwise you probably don't feel the same way after watching them, and that's what has happened while watching complete strangers!

The ones that I have placed on this post here are just some of the very inspiring videos that I have seen so far, go check them out! I feel like I know these people so much better from watching their Draw My Life video. So inspiring!!

Bleach Season 4 Episode 64-68 (Anime Review)

Hey everyone! So I've finally started watching Bleach again!! So I have to say that the first 5 episode of season 4 are really interesting, even though I feel like they're sort of filler episodes. I'll talk about them in this episode, but I'll try to not spill the beans too much!

Ok everyone returns from the Soul Society and go back to normal life. Ichigo and the gang go back to school, and Renji makes an appearance, but this time he's in a human form. With Inoue disappearing one day, it is up to the Ichogo gang to figure out what has happened. In episode 2 we are introduced to a really annoying girl(I have to admit) who starts to play games with everyone by telling them to rush to a local phone or else Inoue dies. This happens a couple of times before the girl finally lets Inoue go. I won't spill the beans next, but later on the Ichigo gang are trapped in a museum labyrinth in which there are traps and stuff. This is the second game the girl plays, and for the third game the gang must figure out which person is an imposter and they must figure it out within a certain amount of time before everyone at the school disappears. There's a couple of other mini games and fight scenes inside these episodes also.

Overall I really like the game themed sort of episodes, this made it really interesting. Also there's also mystery and suspense as almost every time someone disappears or is lost, or someone will die if they don't complete a task or something, that made it really interesting and different to the ark. But also this made the episodes feel like filler episodes as you're not quite sure where it's going to lead. The girl who turns out to be a mod makes the game more lighthearted as she has that annoying laughing, cheerful voice which is annoying, creepy and funny at the same time.

Overall, so far if I had to pick out a few episodes from the series, besides the Aizen dead body scene, these ones are my top picks, though I think maybe the one at the school, or the labyrinth episodes are the most interesting to watch for me.

Oh and have I mentioned the music for the credits??!! They're my favourite closing credits to date apart from the original one with the woman singer singing in English "Nobody knows who I really am"..........

Oh so good! I'd have to rate these few episodes an 8/10. I have no idea what is in store for Bleach though, but I'll find out soon hopefully!!!

Another (Movie Review)

Hi everyone, today I'll quickly talk about Another, the live action movie version, and compare it to the anime I just reviewed yesterday.

So the plot is basically the same as the anime, though to shorten it down, less people died, I think that's the main plot difference. It's been a while since I watched the anime so I can't remember it all, but I couldn't help getting a bit annoyed at the main character portrayed in the film. The writers made it seem like the boy Kōichi was a bit nosy and caused the death of basically everyone(making you hate the lead character).

I think that because it's harder to portray death scenes in such a gruesome way like the anime without it being R18 or banned, but still some of the deaths were a bit hard to watch. My favourite was the spoon??? being pressed inside the eyeball, ooh that's just almost unwatchable!!

The ending is really spooky too. I won't spoil it too much, but a character basically appears out from the dead at the school and looks all fine and stuff, with the movie ending with a freaky cassette message, eeek!!!

Like I said, less people died, and it also meant people died in different ways to the anime too(I keep talking about the anime because I haven't read the novel or manga before so sorry!!) There's actually one person who decided to die in the end, I think that was very heroic, different in the anime where the character just gets murdered.

That's all I guess, overall it's a pretty average film, but I would have not enjoyed it as much if I had never watched the anime before so if you haven't watched both before then I suggest watching the anime first. Overall I'd give it a 6/10

Another (Anime Review)

Hey everyone, so I've run out of recent things I've watched to review on so now I'll be reviewing stuff from the past. Some people know that I really enjoy bloody Anime, gruesome scenes, OMG this title is the one!!! It is called "Another". The first episode aired on Jan 10, 2012, and I managed to watch this series back in 2012, around November when I spent all my days watching Anime. No joke, I was watching one series of 12-13 episodes each day! I managed to almost finish the whole series in one day, except for the last episode, and when I manage to watch a whole series in a day, then I know it's real good!

*Quick Edit, I'm watching the live action film for the first time. I'll compare it against the anime and see which is better!!

Anyway, the anime is set around a class who is cursed. in which members in the class, and their family members die off in quite strange deaths. I girl called Mei Misaki is ignored by the class for some unknown reason. Many years ago, a girl in the same class also called Misaki died midway through the year, with her appearing in the photograph strangely with her classmates after the time of her death(freaky!!!)

There's a scene I really need to spoil, but I won't mention any names. A girl has an umbrella stabbed through her neck, and after that I looked at umbrellas in a whole new perspective, and only buy ones without the spike on the top!

I absolutely love this series! It ranks at my top 10 favourites of all time! The blood, the mystery, the storyline, it all fits in very well. Characters may have been added into the anime just to be killed off, but the creators really made a good use of that. The last episode is a real plot twist, I have to say that that's the most dramatic of all the episodes.

As the episodes go on, secrets unravel and makes you grip onto each episode more and more. I highly recommend this series, and I rate it a 9/10! My cousin really liked this series too! I'll watch the live action movie now and either review and compare it to the anime now or tomorrow. Well until then, bye!

Fishpond (Website Review)

Hi everyone, today I'll be reviewing the website Fishpond (New Zealand). I have ordered two times from them now so I do have a bit of experience from them. This website is similar to NZ game shop, so all the stock comes from overseas(or most at least).

The website offers free shipping on all orders. This is good if the price of the item is cheap enough. I have to say that there are times that the item is cheaper than other local websites. I think that they can get away with the cheap prices is because of how cheap things can be overseas. Stuff sold locally in NZ can be a bit expensive. One thing which I have noticed which is normally always cheaper than other places are their books. I managed to buy a lot of Avatar books from this site at up to $10+ more cheaper than other places, including Mighty Ape which I think is pretty expensive!!

The down side on some of their items is that they're fake. I have looked at some of their Pokemon plush toys at least and I can tell that they're fake. Extremely cheap prices of items from China or Hong Kong, you can do the math. Though I'm not 100% so I can't really say much about it.

So far, all packages I have ordered from them have come inside a bubble bag. Although this is the case, my second order had some creases and bends which I wasn't really happy with, but it's not too much of a problem I guess.

Overall it's an alright site. I'm not big on buying from this site though as it takes 2+ weeks to arrive, slower than NZ Game Shop at least, and NZ game shop has rewards at least. But it's a trusting site, and I don't really have any problems with it at all.

The Biggest Loser (American TV Show Review)

so I say American, because I'm currently watching last season's American biggest loser. This season is called Second Chances 2 (season 15). I've been watching this program for quite some time now, maybe since the beginning. What I find the most interesting is the peoples life back stories, and also peoples weight loss each week.

Compared to the Australian version I have also watched, they compress one week into just around 40 minutes/ one episode. In the Australian versions I have watched, there are 5 episodes for 1 week. In ways it is good because episodes arn't dragged on, but at the same time, episodes can be too compressed so you don't get to see much on the show, so sometimes there's not as much suspense, but it's still good :)

Some of the stories of contestants on the show are pretty inspiring too. Won't talk about anyone here, but sometimes it makes you realise how lucky your life is compared to some of the people on the show.

Something I realised that feels different for this season is that there's not much fighting or anything. There's no-one that you "hate" and want eliminated. I think this is because they introduced "just the red line". So no yellow line vote to exit the game. I feel like this has caused less drama on the show, though it could be that they're not showing it.

But all in all, most things are same on the show. All in all this is a reality show. I won't rate this one though, but I do feel like this show has changed lives of many people for good and impacts deeply for viewers as well which makes it a very inspiring show. Check it out if you haven't. I just started watching this series today, and I've almost finished episode 7, need to study >< Goodnight!

Selena Gomez & The Scene - A Year Without Rain (Album Review)

Hey everyone, I'm here with another album review. I bought this album a few weeks ago off Trade Me, and it arrived a few days ago and I just listened to the whole album right then. This was the second album released by Selena Gomez & The Scene on September 17th, 2010 by Hollywood Records, and consists of 10 tracks(in the official release, though I will list the track list on my album.

Track List:
1. Round & Round
2. A Year Without Rain
3. Naturally
4. Rock God
5. Off the Chain
6. Summer's Not Hot
7. Intuition
8. Spotlight
9. Ghost of You
10. Sick of You
11. Live Like There's No Tomorrow

I have to say that I highly enjoy this album, as it contains many catchy track. This would have to be one of my favourite albums released by Selena Gomez & The Scene to date, though I need to listen to them all to finalise my judgement. What was strange was that Naturally was included in this album, while it was also included in her first album, but oh well, it's still one of my top 10 favourites haha!

I can't really say anything wrong about it at all. And compared with the first one, this one has a lot more better tracks which are more catchy than the first album. I find it hard to blog about albums, I just don't have much to say, either they're good, or they're bad haha, but this one is good. I'll rate it an 8/10. Not much else I have to say, but if you're looking to buy only one album from them, then this could just be the one to buy!

Well that's all, bye!

StarMedia Online Shop(Website Review)

So sorry everyone, I ran out of time once again and am behind on some assignments so I'll do a quick review on a online shop called StarMedia who sell albums and some movies, all released by their company(also their former company Wayang Tinggi). They have various names such as StarMedia Entertainment/ Distribution etc. I myself have ordered from them two times, and here I will talk about my experiences with their website.

They have a Chinese and a English language version of their website. This is good because I can understand it haha. Album selection wise, they stock mainly more recent albums, with a majority being DVD copies and have tried to not stock any of the CD's of the newer albums. They have stocked some very rare albums though at only RM5 each(that is maybe $1-$2NZD for a full album!!!).  So they do some pretty good album deals! Speaking of deals, they do promotions from time to time such as Buy 1 get 2 free, or buy 1 get 1 free etc, so there's not much reason not to buy a whole catalogue!

In terms of shipping, unfortunately it is not free, though sometimes they do free shipping within West Malaysia. They accept paypal for those like me who prefer not to bank in!!! Shipping has usually cost me around 120RM-140RM, so around $50ish dollars, which can be a bit pricey,

Shipping takes around 1-2 weeks so it's not bad considering the distance. They wrap your order in  bubble wrap, or place it in a box and wrap that up in a poster(promotions for albums or moves!!), and then wrap it up in paper again, so it's packaged nicely and it's secure.

Oh I almost forgot, each time, they sent me a Chinese lucky charm thingy which I thought was really nice!! But uh... is that all?? I'll add more if I remember but overall they're a really good site, just shipping price needs a few decreases if they can afford it.

*Edit
Oh yea, it takes around 1 week for the transaction.

What is a Chinese New Year Album?? (CNY News)

Hi everyone, well as this blog is all about entertainment, here I'll be talking about the Chinese New Year album news. I know this topic doesn't interest most of the western viewers so if you don't want to know about Chinese New Year albums then you may stop reading here.

Ok so I've been following album news in Malaysia for quite a while now. When I think of Chinese New Year albums, these are the artists/ groups that I think of, and some of them have released solo CNY albums too, M-Girls(四个女生),  Four Golden Princesses (四千金), Eight Superstars(八大巨),  and Cute Princesses (巧千金). I myself believe that I'm an expert in Chinese New Year albums, at least I have watched and collected enough to know when one is good or bad. Not quite sure if I should make a separate blog about it or not as my Chinese isn't very good. But closer to CNY I will post another blog post on CNY MV's/ albums, and what I usually expect from them.

A bit of a rundown on what a Chinese New Year album is....
You can think of Christmas but to an even larger scale. You have really catchy music, old and new. Sometimes folk and pop songs are converted into a CNY cover!!! Malaysia leads the way in CNY music and releases the most CNY albums out of any country each year(Even China!!!). Most of the time, an artist releases 2 types of albums(these days anyway, an audio CD(what you usually expect with music), and a full MV album, so all the songs in the album have Full Music Videos and are released on either DVD or VCD(Video CD is usually 360p), though previously they were released on Laser Disc and VHS also before they became obsolete, and also Cassette.

I'll cover other stuff in other posts as this is getting too long, but I wanted to announce a new CNY album being released by Cute Princesses (巧千金). This will be their 10th Chinese New Year album as their first album was released back for the 2006 CNY(time flies!!!). Although the 3 past members Cecilia, Alicia and Viki have left the group, Veron has stayed in the group, along with members Miko and Joanne who joined in the 2012 CNY album.

Back at the start of the year their company StarMedia threated fans with a warning on Facebook that they may not let Cute Princesses release another CNY album due to the huge piracy issue as the other successful group managed by StarMedia, M-Girls were pulled from releasing anymore CNY albums due to the huge piracy issue. But this week Cute Princesses have begun shooting their latest CNY album for CNY 2015. I'm excited to see what other artists/ groups will be releasing CNY albums for the 2015 CNY season.

Dance Party: Club Hits (PS2 Game Review)

So yea, I played about two songs and realised the problem straight away.... I didn't have the right mat.
So I bought this game from FishPond, and it said it came with a mat, though after around 2 weeks the game came, but no mat, but I decided to play anyway. What sets this game apart from the usual DDR games is that there are diagonal arrows, not just vertical and horizontal arrows. The design is completely different too. The arrows are placed around in a circle, and the arrows move from the inside to the outside. I actually think this design is easier to see, but I find it harder to get the timing right, and almost always miss a step or two.

Music wise, to start off there's only a small selection of songs which I don't know, but are club sort of songs I guess, and the animations in the background are just people dancing haha. I myself prefer the usual DDR type of games, and find them more fun, but it's worth a try anyway if you haven't played it before. Well until next time, bye!

101 Dalmations 2 (Film Review)

So today I wated 101 Dalmations 2, Patch's London Adventure. So I don't know about you guys but I really enjoy watching Disney movies.

So anyway, like always, I'll just post my thoughts on this movie. But just quickly, this film follows the first film in which there now are 101 Dalmations, and as they're all growing, they need more space to move around so they are moving to the country for more space. The day before they move, Patch feels like he's just part of a set, and wants to be one of a kind like his hero Thunderbolt(which there's an ad for an audition for the show). On the day of the move, Patch sleeps for too long and misses the moving truck. His dad Pongo miscounts the 99 puppies but doesn't think much of it. And basically the film follows Patch as he goes to the audition for the show to meet his hero.

So really I think this film shows the sort of adventure side of what happens when I kid is left behind, but ultimately realises that you need family. When the puppies are stolen again, Patch and Thunderbolt go and rescue the puppies, but on the way Patch finds out that he's not a "real hero" but one that plays on TV, and I thought it sort of relates to Bolt(if you've seen that film)

I think I've seen this film before as there's a few bit which I vaguely remember. The film is pretty good overall I think. I like how the "humans" think that dogs arn't smart, but the film proves it wrong haha. Actually for a kids film, there were a few dialogue bits which I thought maybe wern't quite suited for kids because Cruella de Vil mentions how to "kill" the puppies by drowning them, or bashing them in the head etc, let's hope kids don't know about it, because I certainly didn't even notice it until I watched it today.

Kids certainly enjoy watching adventure type of films don't they? There's been many films where a major character goes missing, and some which realise that their hero is just an actor, though I can't name them all. Overall a good film. 7.5/10. I'll add more if I have time, but I've really run out sorry, bye!

Dance Factory (PS2 Game Review)

Hey everyone, over the next few days I'll probably be reviewing quite a few DDR type games, and if you read one of my reviews a few weeks ago, you'll know why.

Here's an overview. So in these type of games, you follow on screen and step to the music and follow the arrows. For this game Dance Factory, the difference is that you can use your own CDs to dance too, but there are 5 default tracks that you can dance to.

The down sides to this game is that the arrows are so spaced out in solo mode, making it harder to see the steps, also the flashing arrows and backgrounds can be a problem, making it hard to see what steps to take. Also I find normal mode very hard, in fact easy is around normal in the usual DDR.

I can't say much about this game but I'd give it a 7/10. I like how you can use your own music, but it'd be cool if it could save tracks because you need to keep swapping discs and load the songs.

The Legend of Korra, Book 1: Air, The Art of the Animated Series (Book Review)

Hi everyone, today I will review another different thing to what I usually review, a book, but this is no ordinary book, this is the art book of The Legend of Korra (Book 1: Air). So I bought the Avatar The Last Airbender Art book, and I quite enjoyed it so I decided to buy the one about the first season of Korra.

So the book contains a lot of pictures, drawings and sketches of a majority of characters through their production stages. It's interesting seeing the development of characters, and how a sketch turns into the final form. There's also little blurbs to give a bit of info about the picture(s)/ sketch(es). I found the one of ATLA much more interesting though, it had lots of informative info and seemed to be more well thought of while being put together. This one feels like they just chucked in everything, but I'm not saying it's bad at all.

I recommend this art book to fans of ATLK (ATLOK??? oh well) as it just gives a good look at how the series was put together with the characters and scenes etc, along with ideas/ scenes and characters not put into the series.

Fountain Speakers (Review)

Hi everyone, this is a bit of a different review but I got the awesome Fountain Speakers!(there's a few different variations in names but this is the one I like the most. This is just a bit of an overview of what I think of them.

So you get 2 speakers which connect together and operate by USB, so no batteries. At first when I tried them, I thought they were broken because the lights were on, but the water wasn't moving around. I later found out that you need to turn up the music loud, and when I mean loud I mean 50+ in volume so these speakers are not for playing in your own little room for your ears only, but for blasting up LOUD!!! If the music has a really deep bass beat, then it might work better, but still the music needs to be loud.

I also found the audio sounding a bit bad, like it wasn't as crisp as you might usually hear with the usual speakers, but it's not too much of a problem I don't think, unless you're one of those people who really need the quality of audio. I have to say that overall, they're a bit cheap, though I would have liked a bass control to control the water, that'd be nice, and or a volume button. Even a button to change the lights, that'd be awesome! Actually mine is a made in China brand so it could be why??

Overall not bad at all, what will they invent next??!!

最烂学生?2 Bad Students?2 (Film Review)

Hey everyone! I just watched this movie called Bad Students? 2 online today and decided to review it. So is a local production produced in Malaysia so everyone is probably unknown to you all but I still want to introduce it to you all!

So there's a few well known artists in this film, Nick(钟盛忠) and Stella(钟晓玉) Chung and also Crystal Ong (王雪晶). My Facebook friends William and Kitty also play a part in this film so I think it's really cool :D

So the film follows on from the previous film with the same name. Now the teacher Wang Lao Shi (Played by Nick Chung) is asked to go to another school to teach Mandarin to a group of troublesome students. Crystal plays Ah Bao, a very troublesome teen girl who likes to cause trouble and play pranks, which goes too far in the film and causes a student to go to hospital. Ultimately a character dies in the end.

This film deals with some of the usual Asian drama tropes, including the troublesome, bullying students, playing pranks on the teacher, framing the teacher for molestation, unexpected medical condition causing a character to go to hospital, being taken by gangsters, and I think that's all. Though sometime a bit unexpected was characters from a previous school moving into the new school, which I suspect is quite a distance apart.

I myself enjoyed this film as I know a lot of the characters, and it was cool to see some people act for the first time. The use of the DSLR was really obvious as almost everything was either in or out of focus, giving a really artistic effect which is not seen very often on higher budget films. Overall I give this a 7/10, not bad at all. You can find the video on YouTube and watch it yourself. I myself will try and grab a copy while I still can. And for everyone who doesn't understand Mandarin, that's alright as the video includes English Subs!

51st Post! (Blog Post)

So sorry, no post today! I am so flat out with everything going on in my life that I don't have time today to do a proper review because it would take too long. Maybe tomorrow?? But for now I would like to celebrate passing 50 posts on this blog, and posting everyday continuously since the day I opened this blog. I'd like to quickly thank everyone who have found this blog and keep coming back. I just like the entertainment side of things, and usually watch or play something new everyday so you know :D

If you didn't know I'm masterbrendan, my Youtube username since way back in 2007, and my name since young. What shall I review next?? No idea, but maybe some K-Pop albums, and I need to review Nikita, even though I live in NZ which is really late in releasing TV shows! Until next time, bye!
